Holey Posted April 29, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Hi to all! In one of the threads it said that cafe promenade was free! Is this correct? It would be nice if it is.

Free self serve drinks plus snacks, but you pay for specialty coffees. Ben and Jerrys same counter area, and of course pay for that too.. . . . . . Jasperdo Posted April 29, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Can we get a coffee their without paying big time? Here's a photo of the self serve drink station on the Mariner of the Seas. It had Seattle's Best Coffee as well as hot tea and hot chocolate, all free, 24 hours a day:

39august Posted April 29, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2010 And besides Cafe Promenade, which has very good sandwiches, pastries, desserts and cookies, there is also Sorrento's for pizza, salads, grilled veggies, and antipasto. All no charge.
Knight17 Posted April 29, 2010 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Is there anything around the pools to get burgers, fries, pizza, etc., or do you have to go down to the Cafe Promenade? Our kids cann't seem to go more than an hour or two without eating.

katyj Posted April 29, 2010 #10 Share Posted April 29, 2010 cafe promenade is the place to go if your up very late or very early. the ordinary coffee is ok and free, and on freedom in september they had some really nice croissant sandwiches 24 hours, also free which were really good, as well as cake other snacks and of course rccl cookies. We often ended the night with coffee and a snack to take back to our cabin, yumm:)

patseacruiser Posted April 29, 2010 #12 Share Posted April 29, 2010 The windjammer is open on the Lido deck and they can run in there and get something to eat when they're by the pool.
gadaboutgal Posted April 29, 2010 #13 Share Posted April 29, 2010 The self-serve milk is so great to have. DH and I usually snag a glass to go with our late, late night dessert to take back to the stateroom. Gotta make up for the lack of chocolate on the pillow!:D
Ocean Boy Posted April 29, 2010 #14 Share Posted April 29, 2010 I think that the "self serve milk" is meant to be put into coffee. But I guess no one says anything if you fill up a glass with it.

gadaboutgal Posted April 30, 2010 #16 Share Posted April 30, 2010 On the Indy (and her sister ships)milk is not in the little carafes like they have on the other ships. It is in the very large metal urns, and just next to them you will find the glassware to use. On the other ships in the fleet, you ask for milk in the Promenade cafe. However,if you ask and they do not have the cartons back in the kitchen area, they will tell you to take the milk from the carafes. That is why I think the availability of milk as self-serve on Indy is so great. You don't need to ask, and you don't need to feel that you are depriving the coffee drinkers. They had it like that on Freedom too so maybe they decided to start it with that class of ship.

I don't remember seeing any. But I wasn't really looking either so it doesn't mean that they were not there.
