Daliflor,

Great reviw! your pictures are awesome. Can you tell me what room number your JR was. We will be in a similar JR in April for the east bound TA. Looking forward to it very much.

I loved the pictures of the Century docked with AOS. We sailed on the Century in 2008 and had a great time.

37 days... cannot come any faster! I am a teacher and our last day of school is May 25. This cruise is a gift from my husband for successfully completing my first year of teaching. And after this year, boy do I NEED this cruise. Can't wait!

Hi there

We did the Adventure of the Seas last year and were on the first cruise out of Valencia. There were two embarkation ports Malaga and Valencia. Most of the cruise was geared towards passengers embarking and disembarking in Malaga with last night celebrations the night before the Malaga passengers got off. Nothing for those leaving in Valencia. Embarkation at Valencia was horrendous. There were no check in desks or computers and we queued for three hours while they brought them out and set them up. However I understand that this has now been corrected and check in in Valencia has been set up on the first floor.

Because the Malaga passengers got on the day before us most of the best excursions were booked out and we had to settle for the not so popular ones. The cruise itself was OK and the food and waiter service was excellent, as was the service from all the crew. Would certainly give it another try now that the teething problems have been overcome.

Hello everyone. My husband and I were on the June 23 sailing out of Malaga. We had a great time. We were in room 7262, with a balcony. I will say, I got a little weary of having to deal with shuttles from the boat to the entrance of the port. That got old. But there's no getting around it, it's way too far to walk. You have a take a shuttle at Valencia, Civitavecchia, and Livorno. I think only one of them we had to pay for.

My favorite stop was Ajaccio, Corisca. You just walk right off the boat and you're there in town. It was a lovely place with a nice little beach on the other end of town. Did a great tour in Livorno. We had already been to Pisa and Florence on our honeymoon, so opted for something different. The tourism bureau of Livorno was selling a wine tasting tour for 59 euros a piece, and it was excellent! The guide was incredibly knowledgable and we were in a very nice, air-conditioned van. We went to Bolgherri and had gelato and relaxed, then took a tour of a local winery where they provided lunch and wine of course. It was the best thing to do on such a hot day.

The boat itself is in great shape, considering her age. There is going to be slight wear and tear in some places but you really have to look for it. Also, I've heard many complaints about the Spaniards and how they can be obnoxious and inconsiderate while on board, but my husband and I found that they were generally normal. We had these expectations of the most obnoxious people ever, but they are just lively and like having fun. And yes, they eat very late, so if you want a quieter dinner, then do the early seating as the late seating is 95% Spaniards.

Also I've read things about smoking on the ship. I think maybe RCCL has gotten more strict because I really didn't experience the absurd amount of smoke that others have in the past. You'll really smell it in the casino but I never saw people outside of the casino lighting up.

This was my 7th cruise and I've been on Carnival, NCL, Celebrity, Princess, and now RCCL, and I have to say that I was very surprised at the limited amount of food choices there were in the WindJammer, in comparison to other cruise lines. The food was fine, nothing outstanding. I guess that's only because the one Celebrity cruise i've been on, the food was amazing. Every dish was so good and there was so much to choose from in the buffet and room service menu. My husband thought the room service menu on the AOS was a joke and way too small. But overall the food was just fine, I didn't hate anything, but I guess i'm not really THAT picky about food.

The service was excellent in the MDR. We sat by ourselves and enjoyed just being with each other and our waiters didn't bat an eye when I ordered 2 sometimes 3 entrees! I just had to try everything that looked interesting. But one thing we both found interesting was how, overall, the service wasn't AS good or friends I should say, as other cruises we've been on. No one was ever rude or anything but they just weren't as friendly, they didn't say hi to you as much. My husband is half Filipino/half Italian, and every cruise we've been on, there are many filipino staff and all of them notice him and ask his nationality. And as a whole, they are incredibly friendly, giggly, outgoing people. I think I maybe saw 3 filipino staff on the entire AOS. My husband thinks that might have something to do with the not AS friendly crew on this ship. Dont get me wrong, they were all nice people, especially the MDR staff, but everyone else just kind of seemed irritated that they were there and had to wait on us or be friendly in any way.

I was genuinely grumpy when we had to get off the boat, because I love cruises, they are my favorite way to travel. The reason we went on this cruise was because we got a GREAT deal on it, $444 a person for a balcony stateroom. Yes, the airfare wasn't cheap, but how often can you get a balcony stateroom for that little in the Mediterranean? We're young, both 25, and this is the time to travel and explore, while we have the energy to do it. Now will I ever cruise with RCCL again? Yes I would. If it was remotely affordable as it was this time around. RCCL tends to be more expensive than other cruise lines, and this particular boat was great and we had a wonderful time. But I'm not so sure that we'd fork over all that money when we could have an equally wonderful time on a different cruise line for a lot cheaper.

But if they have prices that low in the future, i'm sure we will take them up on it. I can't believe how much I just typed here... Haha. Kind of got carried away with it. Anyways, that's it!
