Couple quick questions from a first-time cruiser:

 

 

I see that the ship has tons of different little restaurants in the promenade, like a pizza shop, and ice cream shop. Is it free to eat at these venues?

 

For the private restaurants like chops, how expensive is it to eat?

 

Some questions about the casino:

 

For you texas holdem players- What are the blinds, and are any tournaments held?

 

How late is the casino open?

Pizza free.....there is a charge at Ben & Jerry's

Chops is $25 per person "tip included"--if you go go hungry, or better yet, go starving. LOTS of food.

Don't do the casino, so can't help with that.

There are electronic table games/tournaments. I believe there are several hold-em tournaments throughout and the winners of each of those play a big tournament at the end.

Sorrentos and Cafe Promenade are free. Ice cream is a nominal charge.

 

$20 at Portofino $25 at Chops pp and that includes gratuity.

 

As long as there are players they oblige. I have been in the casino until 3-4 am. The Compass always shows opening time and closing always says "late".

Yes. There is no dealer and no actual cards. It's all computerized. It's still cool though. My dad did one of the tournaments on the Freedom a few years ago and enjoyed it.

Hi Michelle, changing the subject slightly, I wanted to thank you as your's was the first post i read back in January when i joined CC! I was so impressed with it that i can still today remember most of your journey! We're doing the same cruise on the 4 July, our first ever!! I'm building a 'nervous excitement' as i count down the days, my main worry is that i won't want to go back home afterwards LOL!

freedom is great. casino stays open very early inthe am. promenade is like walking down a mall.

Johnny rockets also has a cover charge, and i totally agree with the comment about chops its fantastic, my mouth is watering just thinking about it:D

Absolutely! I showed photos of us on the FOS Promenade to our (23 yr old) son, and he wouldn't believe it was onboard...I had to show him the brochure and the online interactive ship to convince him!
