We did the Adventure OTS TA in April of this year, with my parents having previously done one on the Liberty. We loved the Caribbean itinerary and are so disappointed that RCI is offering such a poor range of southern TA's with very limited (or none) port stops. Does anyone know if this is just a one off or a sign of things to come? Also for all you frequent cruisers is there a good time to book a TA- ie. closer to the cruise sailing date or not? And would you recommend booking it as cruise only or taking the fly cruise option? Any assistance you can give will be greatly appreciated.

We booked this cruise through our AAA TA and booked our flight on our own because we did not want to pay luggage fees like the last time. Not sure about ports or lack of. I would imagine it would depend on where the ship is going and for how many days. Longer cruise = more ports but not sure.

Take a look at the cruises sailing out of San Juan. We are booked for a 7 night cruise with only one "at-sea" day next May

The entertainment listings have finally came up for our Oasis cruise in September.

 

The only thing is, at the minute, it isn't letting us pick the day or time of the shows, it just lets you click in on Hairspray or the comedy show for example and pick the number of guests but not the day or time!

 

Has anyone else noticed this, do you think the times etc will come up at some stage?

Sailed on the Enchantment of the Seas last week. We traveled with our 2 year old and 9 month old.

 

They did provide a pack & play/crib for us, however, they did not provide sheets for it. Before we went, other members said that they were provided sheets for the crib so I did not bring any.

 

My 2 year old was too scared to sleep in the lofted bunk so I pulled the bedding off that bed, layered it in the crib and she slept in there. That meant the baby ended up sleeping with us in the king bed.

 

Next time I dont think I will buy the soda package. It was a pain lugging that cup around to use the free style machines and I drank more soft drinks that I normally would to "justify" the cost.

 

We were able to bring bottled water on board to mix with baby formula. We had it out when we got to the port they told us we needed to put them in one of our bags but put the bottle of wine we brought in our carry on.

 

Other than that, we had a great time and great service.

If you find you are in need of over the counter medications on boards you can get larger quantities in the medical centre on deck 1 for a better price than the travel packages sold in the gift shops on board. Same goes for bandages.

Last year our 2 yo grandson used a pack & play provided on the ship and they don't provide a typical fitted sheet just a regular sheet. It worked fine after wrapping the mattress in it, with the loose edges underneath. And he's an active sleeper but it stayed in place. You could have used 2 cribs.

You have to pay for the Cruise and shows at the same time. The onboard drink cards are very expensive unless you drink a gallon of soda a day. It's $50 for 5 days and that works out to 10/day and you'll get diabetes with that much sugar or a bad sugar high anyway. Figure it this way, you get 100 teaspoons of sugar a day drinking that much coke and you wonder why you're undertall for your portly proportions!?

Many have posted on the main boards below that they had no problem taking water/soda on board.

It doesn't say you can't. Also, you may hang a banner on your door if you ask first. We had a Fall banner, with Lots of Orange and pumpkins and an orange cat on it. They asked us to take it down after a few days. We also had balloons and a Congrat sign on our door and at dinner a cake was presented to us by the Chef for our 20th anniversary aboard Princess and the staff sang happy Aniversary. It felt good! Not sure if RCL does this.

You can store suitcases under beds. Beds can be pushed together and made into a Queen, just request ahead of time.
