Porthole crusie magazine

Does this community read or recommend it? I saw an ad for it but I wasn't sure if it was worth spending the money.

I read both them and cruise travel magazine. Porthole has very nice layout and it a very nice magazine (hence the more expensive pricetag) but in my opinion cruise travel has better information. But, both are very good, you'll get higher quality pictures and layout with porthole.

We used to get Port Hole. But we stopped it about 3 years ago -- too expensive for all the ads in there -- not much on cruising.

We prefer Cruise Travel.

Cruise Travel I get free thru an on line travel agency.

I used to read both Porthole and Cruise Travel. I think they are fine for those new to cruising but I do think much of what they contain can easily be found on the internet.

I used to buy both Porthole and Cruise Travel. However, if you've bought a couple, their content tends to repeat itself ("A Day in Ketchikan!"). The internet, I find, is a better resource.

 

Still buy them now and again from the newsstand, but $5 or $6 per magazine is a pretty steep price to pay for something filled with advertisements and glossy photos I can find online.

 

Cruise Travel is still a step above, and has some very unique, informative articles.

I wasn't impressed with the magazine. I now get one from my online TA that I just absolutely loveeeeeee!
