karlsselindh Posted May 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2010 It's 8:15 a.m. on a beautiful morning here in San Diego, but the piercam shows no ships. Statendam was due at 7 a.m. http://live6.truelook.com/face/newface.jsp?func=live&name=/ecodb/1amnorth&overlay=default&skin=default&useapplet=true&time=1079125758566&width=640&height=480&quality=65&catalogname=catalog&preset=1AmPlazNorth1/PLAY/Cruise+Ship+Terminal

karlsselindh Posted May 12, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted May 12, 2010 Yep, our posts must have entered cyberspace at the same time! Statendam is still not there at 8:45 a.m.!!!!
karlsselindh Posted May 12, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted May 12, 2010 I zoomed out on the web cam and could see the Statendam in the distance. It will be about 2 hours late. I hope nobody had early flights out of San Diego, thinking it's only a few blocks between the pier and airport!
cruz chic Posted May 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2010 I wonder if they are having engine problems again. I was very late getting into the port in Oct.2009 and barely made my 1:25pm flight.
lka1012 Posted May 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2010 That is the number one reason to NEVER book a flight before noon. The ship may be late. I was watching for it also, but had to leave to go run an errand. It's in now though.
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2010 Just hope they since they are late arriving in San Diego that immigration doesn't take forever. Last year when we were on the Westerdam, we arrived in San Diego on time. those who were suppose to report immigration (foreignors) at 7 AM -- they didn't -- names and cabin numbers being called at 10. The ship finally cleared at 10:40. Even though about 600 people got off the ship -- small number -- I can imagine that quite a few missed their flights. Yup, we had the VERY same experience on the Oosterdam on May 4, 2010. The first people got off the ship around 10:40.

zentmrs Posted May 12, 2010 #11 Share Posted May 12, 2010 We just walked by on our lunchtime walk (I work about a block from the cruise ship terminal) and heard the signature "announcement" tones being sounded. Oh how I wish I were on board right now!
