LizardBeth Posted May 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2010 We're cruising in 2 weeks, Woohoo!!! Can some one please tell me how much the soda card for a 7-day cruise will cost? If it makes a diffence we will be on the Legend. Also, I have ready previously, they serve the soda in relatively small glasses or will they give you cans? Any info would be appreciated. We're trying to figure out if we should bring our own soda on board for the "soda drinkers" and "drink mixes" then replenish our supply in the various ports, or if the soda card will be beneficial. Thanks for any input! -Lizard
Normal 1 Posted May 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Cost is $6.00/day or $4.50/day (kids 17 & under) PLUS 15% gratuity and if purchased before sailing, sales tax. Some suggest bringing a large thermal mug. Enjoy your cruise.
Carolin Posted May 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Normally they will not hand you cans but if you talk real nice to one of the bartenders on the Lido deck near the main pool. they might give you a can out of the fridge there. Normally cans sit out and are not kept cool. Also, if you get a soda from an inside bar (like by the casino), pops are served in the larger pint glasses that they use to serve beers in. :D

Cruisin'Allie Posted May 14, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 14, 2010 When we sailed on the Triumph, we got a mug with the card that they would fill but if you didn't have the mug with you, they would only put the soda in a small plastic cup... the three sips and it's gone kind. (No one that we encountered (bartenders, beverage servers in DR) liked the fact that we had the card and we got second class service because of it.) Hoping that attitude is different on our Valor cruise this Nov.
LizardBeth Posted May 14, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Can any recent cruisers who purchased soda cards comment on mugs given out with the purchase of the soda card? Any info would be helpful. Thanks! BTW: Thanks OhioJeff and Soonerbaby for the info that you provided!
daqchic1 Posted May 18, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 18, 2010 Just got back Sat, purchased card. I dont think it was any more than 50 dollars (7 day cruise). I didnt get any attitude from anyone about having the card. In the dining room, every meal our drinks were on the table after the first day. They even brought the whole cans to us. We didnt get any mug with our card so not sure what that is about. I did see people with mugs getting filled. it was so easy having the card and not worry about how much you spending on soda. One person can make a soda run as long as he has everyones card to show.
pokergirl34 Posted May 18, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 18, 2010 Can any recent cruisers who purchased soda cards comment on mugs given out with the purchase of the soda card? Any info would be helpful. Thanks! BTW: Thanks OhioJeff and Soonerbaby for the info that you provided! The mugs are extra. They are red insulated cups with a lid. Do not put them in the dishwasher ;). I think the were $6 or $7.

So if you buy the mug you can have the mug refilled with the soda card?
tada Posted May 18, 2010 #12 Share Posted May 18, 2010 If you buy the mug, it will be refilled with the soda card. But you must clean it yourself. We have collected too many mugs now. We just go with the glasses they serve.
