spunkanutter Posted May 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2010 Do any of the Carnival ships still do either the midnight buffets or the chocolate buffets? Specifically the Valor, as that'll be my first Carnival cruise. Any help is appreciated, thanks :)
CWcruisers Posted May 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2010 The Chocolate Buffet is the last day at lunch. There are no more Midnight Buffet, but there is a Lido Deck party one night and they have a Mexican Buffet. The Buffets of the past with the carved vegetables and ice sculptures are a thing of the past.
footballref Posted May 25, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2010 Just got off the Valor--agree with CW cruisers above. Mexican Buffet is on Friday night, on Lido Deck beginning at 11:30pm. Chocolate Buffet is last day at Sea, at lunch. Everything chocolate, including a fountain. Many cakes, cookies, truffles, even milkshakes. It was good, but they didn't publicize it much on board. Last year I hated the Mexican buffet, plus those buffets are generally filled with greedy people trying to fit as much stuff on their plate as possible. I recall huge lines and not enough of anything decent to go around... I generally try and stay away from the buffets on the cruises
dominichunter Posted May 26, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2010 Mexican buffet ?? Was on the Spirit 4/4/10. Taco Bell has better tacos, plus no enchiladas, chili rellenos, refried beans.

And they weren't well attended. It took a week of preparation to put it together. Do any other lines offer a Gala Buffet? I was just on RCCL and they didn't.
