JAMESCC Posted June 11, 2010 #26 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Its "Oasis" and its absolutely insane. This ship is beyond incredible. There slogan should be "We build beyond incredible". The promenade is absolutely huge. On Explorer it gets a little crowded but I can't see that with Oasis/Allure. Its so wide. Its an amazing ship. denamo Posted June 11, 2010 #29 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Glorious! We're on her at the next embarkation on Saturday!! I will appreciate this trip even more getting to see the technology it took to make the Oasis.
Rare BecciBoo Posted June 11, 2010 #30 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Very interesting. Brought me back to the night we all tracked Oasis under that bridge. Wish they had had more of the ship itself, but it was tantelizing! Good job.
BroncosFan2010 Posted June 11, 2010 #31 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Mine said Freedom, but it was indeed the Oasis. Watching it now, very interesting.
jd10367 Posted June 11, 2010 #32 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Interesting show. We're booked for next March, a Central Park balcony next to the "living wall". She's a beautiful ship!
QuickGold Posted June 11, 2010 #33 Share Posted June 11, 2010 It was a great show and very interesting to watch. Loved seeing all the details in how they built her. But I LOL'ed when it slammed into the dock.

Rare AFS1970 Posted June 11, 2010 #35 Share Posted June 11, 2010 I watched it last night, it was definitely about the Oasis, and my Cablevision here in Connecticut said it was about the Freedom. I thought this was one of the best specials I have ever seen on a cruise ship for one simple reason, it was less about what the ship offered passengers than it was on the architects and designers who were coming up with the concepts. I especially likes hearing about how different Central Park is from the original concept. There was a great quote on there too, about RCI not setting out to build the world's biggest cruise ship, but ending up that way when they started fitting all their new ideas together. Yikes !! Interesting programming sequence ! :D :)
Arrow Fan Posted June 11, 2010 #37 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Last Wed (June 2) the Discovery channel here in Canada aired the program "Mighty Ships" about the maiden voyage of Oasis. They actually waited almost a half hour for 46 passengers to return to the ship in Nassau. I was thinking that if not for the T.V. cameras these folks would have been left behind.
redhead621 Posted June 11, 2010 #38 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Just had the opportunity to watch the show. It is a definate "MUST SEE". If you missed it make sure to watch it next Thursday ay 6PM. WOW!!!!!
niecyd Posted June 11, 2010 #39 Share Posted June 11, 2010 I saw Oasis on TV last night too on National Geographic Channel. I would've never known it was coming on until someone post it last week on cruise critic. I even wrote it down in my personal calendar to watch it or if busy, tape it on my Verizon DVR. The TV guide said Freedom of the Seas but it definitely was Oasis. I was mesmerized the entire hour of the show. I can't wait until I cruise on her sister ship Allure next year!!!:D
Cruising89143 Posted June 11, 2010 #40 Share Posted June 11, 2010 I enjoyed it. I wish that they would have made a three hour three part series like they did with the building of the Voyager class. That was really good. One thing that I enjoyed about last nights show was the fact that it was not like those silly Travel Channel shows that they have been turning out over the last few years. This was one very interesting. Of course she is one of the most beautiful ships that I have ever seen. RCI hit a home run with Oasis.;)
funat55 Posted June 11, 2010 #41 Share Posted June 11, 2010 I watched it last night and was facinated with the technology involved in putting it together. FIOS tv guide tried to fool me and said Freedom but ha ha ha, I recorded it anyway and it was Oasis.
zoomerica Posted June 11, 2010 #42 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Was great to see behind the scenes like that. My only complaint is that it was too short! Very well done though. They really did a good job designing and building it. May have to see it from inside...
Nanaimobound Posted June 11, 2010 #43 Share Posted June 11, 2010 We watched it last night, it was very good. Loved watching it go under the bridge where they had made the special stacks that would go down only once! Oasis is unbelievable!

Crewmates Posted June 12, 2010 #46 Share Posted June 12, 2010 On the Left Coast (Cox Cable) it will repeat on again Thursday, June 17, at 3:00 PM. I checked on the NGC website and on the Cox guide. Set my DVR and am all set. We sailed on her in February and she is a remarkable ship.
temple1 Posted June 12, 2010 #47 Share Posted June 12, 2010 Weird. According to the National Geographic website it is on Freedom of the Seas. But it is being repeated Thursday night. I'll see then. Either way - we are DVR'ing the show.
