Bistro on 5 - comments please

Most people stay away as do we. On the Equinox we never saw more than a couple of people in at a time. The place was usually completely empty with staff just standing there watching people walk past. $5 is a ripoff.

Yes, that is why they decided to expand the concept to the M-class ships. When things don't work, put them on other ships...

HAHA great comment!

Its funny what people complain about paying for!!! When we stay at the Ritz or W hotel prior to the cruise in FLL we pay like 350-500 a night and get nothing!!! perhaps a bottle of water free! not even free parking!!!

Hi,

I cruised aboard the Solstice in late May and dined at the Bistro on Five twice. My first time was immediately after boarding the ship. This was a great option because I could avoid the crowded buffet on the first day. I also had lunch there during one of the days in port. I was one of the only people there at the time. I really enjoyed the food and the service.

I think this is definitely worth a try, the only trouble is with 6pm dining will we be hungry for dinner?

I wasn't and I was eating at 8.30! They were big portions and the waiters were very eager to let me try as much as I wanted to. Formal night was a struggle. That's why I am going to try a more casual evening meal there if I can.

LOVED Bistro on 5 on both Solstice and Equinox. Between both cruises, we ate there five times, both breakfast and lunch. I'm happy they have the cover charge for without it the place would be jammed all the time. Looking forward to dining there again in Sept. on Equinox.

Can't wait- my boys are big fans of crepes and panini's.....okay food in general!

Toronto25- what cruise line charges for adult areas?

Thanks.

We were on the Crown Princess and they charged a fee for the adult only area. You could use the adult pool and normal loungers for free, but they had a special bit with padded loungers that had a fee.
