How can I search this thread for a particular room? When I try to search with just the number no results are returned.

Thanks

I was able to use the search for a number and it worked fine. It might be that no one has posted on the stateroom number you entered.

Ship - Grandeur of the Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8066

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No. We had this stateroom in 2009 before the recent upgrades and it was quiet. However, they changed the Solarium Cafe to the Park Cafe and there is noise from above during the late night and very early morning. The Park Cafe is open for longer hours and for breakfast.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Very good view.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal for a JS on Grandeur

Was wind a problem? - Never

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Aft, but on the Port side.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No

Any other comments? - Newer balcony furniture with 2 nice chairs and a side table that was at the right height for eating if getting breakfast from Room Service.

Would not book this JS again due to the noise we heard from above. It sounded like carts being rolled around both late at night and very early morning. We are not people who go to bed early, but the noise was there for much of the night off and on.

Ship - Enchantment of the Seas – September 30-October 4, 2013

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7658

Stateroom Category – D1

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –

Very quiet and peaceful. Great for taking naps after delicious lunch!

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -

Yes.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –

Beautiful view of sea, private, no obstructions whatsoever. Not full sun, but sunny enough to read by (per hubby). Bring a few little BATTERY OPERATED candles (dollar store) to put on the balcony table to enjoy the view at night! Real burning candles obviously are prohibited.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -

Normal size, enough for two chairs and small table. Hubby (who is 6 feet two) had enough room to put his feet up on the rail while reading on balcony.

Was wind a problem? -

Not at all if you were sitting down. A refreshing gentle sea breeze if you stood up and stretched your neck out to look fore or aft.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Not at all.

Any specific problems with this cabin? -

Was one of the older cabins, starting to show its age; some minor repairs needed for the following – fittings around mirrors above desk looked somewhat scratched; balcony railings could use some new paint; desk drawers sometimes stuck a little; carpet molding around base of desk needs some adhesive. None of this bothered us, but am only reporting these things in case they matter to others.

Any other comments? –

Next to last balcony cabin before aft suites. New comfortable large sofa. New coffee table. New flat screen TV. New safe with 4 digit combination. Lots and lots of storage space, including multiple shelves, small drawer, and small cabinet in bathroom. Comfortable bed was high enough to store luggage under. Desk had plenty of drawer space above and below. Shower has cloth curtain, but we put clothespins on hem and had no problems.

Very attentive and friendly cabin steward Muddin Ali greeted us when we got to our cabin around 2 PM. Addressed us as “Mr.” or “Mrs.” (first name), each time he saw us, kept cabin spotless. Would certainly choose this cabin again.

If you have mobility issues, you may want to rethink booking this cabin, as it is a looooonnnnng walk from the elevators; if you want to walk off those 2 desserts you had (and now regret), this is the cabin for you.

Ship - Radiance of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7552

Stateroom Category – E3

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – We heard the karaoke from the bar below us one evening, and the only other noise concern was the whistling coming from somewhere on windy nights.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – We could not look directly down as we were right above the life boats, this was not a concern as far as we were concerned. Also room 7550 is the start of a hump so a slight lessening of vision to the left. Also not a problem. The view is still magnificent.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal

Was wind a problem? - not at all

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - The only concern I had was that the bed seemed to be slightly sloped toward the head. Would have been happier had it sloped other way. Got an extra pillow and solved the problem.

Any other comments? - Great cabin. We did a cabin crawl on our cruise and I was very happy with what we had for the price. Would definitely book it again as it was close to elevators and stairs but we never heard them.

Postscript: Beds are closer to bathroom, providing more walking room to balcony. We kept beds together rather than have them separate.

Ship - Rhapsody

Deck - 2

Stateroom # - 2565

Stateroom Category – ??

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – N/A

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No

Any other comments? -

Is a 4 Berth inside cabin situated on deck 2 mid ships on the starboard side. The bunks are drop out of the ceiling type so are not noticeable. It has a plug in hair dryer as part of the desk equipment.

Deck 2 is the lowest passenger deck on the ship and if you are like us, and don't use the lifts, then this level will be testing. Seven flights of stairs to the buffet was certainly a work out!!!!

Good points

- Is ideally situated midships, feeling minimal movement of the ship. It is half way between the 2 main staircases. Remember front stairs for the buffet and back stairs for the restaurant.

- It is very conveniently located when returning from a day on shore, being only one floor above the gangway floor.

- Is an extremely quiet room, one of the quietest we have experienced. Hardly any creeks or moans and no noise from above, below or next door (I know this will depend on the type of neighbors you may have though). Corridor noise is hardly noticeable as well.

- well lit room with plenty of mirrors.

Bad points

- It does NOT have a fridge, which was very inconvenient.

- Bathroom is the usual small size, as is the shower.

- Cupboard storage space is by far insufficient, with nowhere near enough drawers. We had to store clothes in our bedside table and open shelves and we don't travel with that much stuff!!

- The couch is situated right under the TV, meaning you have to sit or lay on the bed to watch TV.

- When the bed is made up into a queen, there is only 1 bed side table and one side of the bed is up against the wall (although you can have it moved out slightly to allow minimal access to both sides).

BUT here is my Review ....

Ship - Independence Of the Seas

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9704

Stateroom Category – E2

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very Quiet

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Being an Corner AFT cabin, the view is breathtaking... Seriously, there is no comparison to the full view you get from that balcony..

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - I think it is a bit bigger then normal balcony's but it is somewhat of an odd shape, and there is a large beam next to the separation wall to the other balcony which kills a bit of your balcony space ... No sliding door for this cabin, we had a regular door (a little on the heavy side) leading out & a large round window... People from the deck above can look down to you perfectly if you are standing at the railing but you are more sheltered if sitting back against the window area... There were 2 lounges, 2 chairs & a small table and felt a bit cramped.. We kind of laid one of the loungers on its side so it was a little out of the way and it gave us so much more room...

Was wind a problem? - No different then outside at any other part of the ship

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - We noticed a few specks here and there but for the most part No it wasn't a problem

Any specific problems with this cabin? - It is a bit away from the Elevator... and you do hear the grind and can feel motion from the propellers or azipod's or what ever they are, which didn't really bother me ... But the major downfall for us was, you feel EVERYTHING, I don't mind feeling the Ocean's movement, I actually find it quite relaxing normally ... but we hit a little bit of rough seas and it was really bad...

Ship - Explorer of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 1694

Stateroom Category – Junior Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Aft

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – For the most part. Woke up early one morning to hearing chairs being dragged around in the Windjammer above us.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes. No noise.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Aft balcony on deck 10. The voyager class does have the ship super structure past these balconies making it an obstructed view. Less noticeable the higher you go.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized. Very large. Two loungers, two regular chairs and a table. Lots of space. Approximately 12'x12'

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Not for us because of the overhang. Noticed it the last day on the exposed balconies below us.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - See above.

Any other comments? - Feel free to message me with any questions.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal for JS.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Yes. Intermittent sewerage smell. Toilet was stained and pressure wasn't good. Door to our (horrible) balcony took a lot of strength to open.

Ship - Enchantment

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8152

Stateroom Category – JS Junior Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? This stateroom should be avoided at all costs! The galley to the Park Café is directly above this cabin. There is noise day and night - with most of the noise occurring during the overnight hours. You will hear trolley carts rolling, dishes dropping, and doors slamming.

I am a heavy sleeper but was unable to sleep in this cabin. Guest relations finally allowed us to sleep in another cabin on the final night of sailing.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - No obstructions

Balcony Size? Normal size with 2 chairs and a small square table

Was wind a problem? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Directly under the Park Café galley - very, very noisy during the day and especially during overnight hours. Room steward acknowledged that he receives complaints weekly from passengers.

Any other comments? - AVOID THIS CABIN!!

Ship - Splendour of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7136

Stateroom Category – D1

Starboard or Port Side - Aft, 1 cabin in from the port side

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly quiet but being at the aft of the ship you do hear the engines quite a bit. Didn't bother me at all but it's something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper or bothered by noise/vibration. To be honest the A/C was usually louder than the engines anyway!

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Wonderful view of the wake of the ship as we sailed. Had a perfect view of several of the ports as well.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Same width but much deeper than other D1 balconies

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Noticed a few random flecks of soot every now and again for most of the cruise. But we did wake up one morning with the balcony and furniture covered in soot. After the housekeeping staff did their morning cleanup it was fine.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

Any other comments? - I would book this cabin again. Some people compalin about the distance from the elevators but after stuffing my face for a week, any additional exercise is welcomed! :)
