Ship -Brilliance of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7094

Stateroom Category – Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Being right next to the Centrum, we could hear the entertainment, which was generally done by midnight.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Looking straight down, the view of the water is blocked. This is a hump cabin, and looking forward, you are looking over the tenders. The view looking out is great, and if you are sitting on the balcony, the lack of a downward view is not a problem. The balcony is fully covered so the only sun would be in the afternoon when the ship is heading north.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized. We comfortably had 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a table.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Only as stated above

Any other comments? - If you turn in early, the noise from the Centrum may be an issue. Otherwise, location is great - right next to elevators and business center.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No soot problems. 3 cabins away from Royal Suite

Special thanks to Mysticks1 on the Celebrity Cruises forum for this idea. I would like to begin to assemble one for Royal Caribbean.

To the moderators, I would appreciate if we could make this a "sticky" at the top of the page for all to see.

Every week or two I will post a PDF for all the ships and cabin information compiled here.

Please, refrain from posting cabin questions here so this can purely be an informative thread, especially for those that are first time cruisers or seasoned cruisers looking for a great cabin.

The template is as follows:

Ship - brilliance of the seas

Deck - 3

Stateroom # - 3536

Stateroom Category –

Just got back yesterday. Yes, we were under the very edge of the Windjammer and there were times I could hear the chairs being moved around above my cabin which did wake me up a few times. It was a very nice location for a cabin, and yes, the ceiling and wall modular panels did "creak" quite a bit when the ship was moving at higher speeds and when the waves were higher than normal (which woke me up a few times)...but it was a very nice cabin for anyone that is looking for a two-bedroom suite.

Ship - Oasis of the Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 590

Stateroom Category – D5

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – VERY quiet

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Located at the beginning of the forward "hump". Great view forward, cannot see rear of ship due to being at the beginning of the hump. Lifeboats a couple of decks down but do not obstruct your view whatsoever.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - larger than other D5's due to being at the beginning of the hump. Balcony isn't rectangle. It gives several additional feet on one side. Angled.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

Any other comments? - Bed by the closet in this room which was a PLUS for us. We enjoyed having the sofa near the balcony so we could sit during the day with the door open. (When you open the balcony door on the ship, the AC cuts off so sleeping with the door open isn't usually an option.) Even with bed by closet, there was ample room to get in/out of closet. Not a problem AT ALL for us considering you're in the closet briefly once or twice a day. Cabin location gives easy access to Central Park. Quiet - no noise from above or hallway. Will likely book this same room when we sail on Allure next time.

Ship - Grandeur of the Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8043

Stateroom Category – POV- Panoramic Ocean View

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes- The wall created for these rooms kept most of the noise from the Centrum. You can hear some items above on the pool deck, like carts, etc.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Panoramic window- Although half of the size other Panoramic rooms. We were on the end, and didn't get the full view.

Balcony Size- NA

Was wind a problem? - NA

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Drapes did not close all the way.

Any other comments: Quite, and spacious. The bed was near the window, and had a full size couch. The bathroom was standard and had a shower curtain.

Ship - Adventure of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom# - 7392

Stateroom category - JS

Starboard or port side - Starboard

Quiet stateroom? I'm going to have to say no. It was always possible to hear vibrations through the ship when the engines were running.

Balcony View - The cabin is at the aft of the ship. There is some of the superstructure always within view. That said, when at or leaving ports, there were some great views.

Balcony size - As an JS aft, the balcony is about twice as large as normal. Two chairs, two lounges, two tables. Definitely a great place to spend time.

Was wind a problem? Not in the slightest.

Was soot a problem? Nope. Its 100% covered by the balcony above and never saw an issue.

Other comments? - the very back end of one of the crew areas is viewable from the balcony (and vice versa). We did not find this to be an issue though. We loved location enough that we booked another aft already for a cruise next year.

Ship – Radiance of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # 1596

Stateroom category - Junior Suite

Starboard Side

Quiet stateroom – Nope. Continual noise from the air intake vents that protrude at the top of the balcony. It is an industrial intake fan. It creates a white noise to help with the next point.

Rita’s Cantina is above, chairs scraping on tile floor, plus the bedroom goes back under a kitchen clean up area and corridor where trolleys rattle over the tiled floor before during and after feeding times at the Windjammer.

Connecting stateroom - no

Balcony View – good. The protruding overhang above makes its self known if you are close to something that is a bit taller, but on the other hand it provides a lot of shade and keeps the balcony a little cooler.

Cabin was two from the aft. So not listed as obstructed, but the cabin next door’s obstruction did impose slightly if you were looking to the aft.

Balcony size – normal JS size No soot issues.

Was wind a problem – No.

Specific problems:

Noise as described above.

The long walk to and from the room from any stairs or elevators can be annoying even if you are fit. If you have mobility issues the trolleys and linen bags that spend hours in the corridor morning and night can be a squeeze to get past. It took me about a minute and a half of brisk walking to get to the centrum strairs and elevators. On the deck plan there are stairs showing, but these are restricted to staff except for emergency.

On the positive the cabin itself has no horrible squeaks or cracking noises internally.

Ship – Radiance of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom # 7668

Stateroom category E1

Starboard Side 2nd from aft

Quiet stateroom – Yes - no squeaks or cracking noises internally. Heard nothing from the colony club below. Above the kids sounded like they jumped from bunks a few times during the day, but nothing serious. There is a part of the sewerage somewhere along the outside of the balcony and it sounded similar to someone opening their sliding door every now and then. It wasn’t a problem for us.

Connecting stateroom – yes. Lovely quiet neighbours luckily so no noise.

Balcony View – because this is 2nd from the aft and the next cabin has a large obstruction it was a bit of a presence. The balcony was still a nice view and might suit someone that does not like looking down directly on water. It was a bit like having a small front yard.

Balcony size – oversized, at least twice the standard size in depth. Normal width. Was very easy to walk around table, and while the small partition gave a bit less privacy we had no issues. Balconies above could not see in as we had feared. We stayed on Deck 10 in almost the same position the next week and could not see any more than the handrail at the front of the balcony. From the balcony we never saw anyone from deck 8. Not sure what they could see, but we were tucked in under them somewhat.

Was wind a problem - no, less wind because of the aft wrap around. It was a bit more shaded at times also.

Specific problems: The long walk to and from the room from any stairs or elevators can be annoying even if you are fit. If you have mobility issues the walk can be a bit annoying. It took me about a minute and a half of brisk walking to get to the centrum stairs and elevators. On the deck plan there are stairs showing, but these are restricted to staff except for emergency.

The only other drawback for us was the small couch. The D sized cabins have a 3 seater, and this was half that size. So 2 normal people could sit on it, just, but not relax.

Deck - 3

Stateroom # -3108

Stateroom Category –G

Starboard or Port Side -Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly quiet from any hallway noise but at night there was a loud banging noise that sounded like it was a heavy metal object hitting the side of the ship. It wasn't constant but it was enough to make us wonder what it could be.

ANY OTHER COMMENTS? -This is the perfect room, in the perfect location with easy access to elevators, boardwalk, donut shop, Johnny Rockets..Promenade down one level and central park up 2 levels. Bed is close to bathroom, not balcony. Walk in closet makes a good nightlight..the small opening under the door makes for enough light without any getting in your eyes at night. All ports are on the starboard side (western Caribbean) so watching pier runners was great!

There is a spot on Cruise Critic where you can find reviews of individual cabins by people that had the cabin. Not sure if it's 100% of every cabin on board but there are enough reviews by class if cabin to give you a good idea.
