Ship - Jewel of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 1604

Stateroom Category – E1

Starboard or Port Side - AFT

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems

) – NO

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No

Balcony View - Aft balcony with unobstructed view

Balcony Size? - Very large with two loungers plus table and two chairs/ still plenty of room

Was wind a problem? - Not terribly

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Yes, there was a fair amount of soot on the chairs and floor every day.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - YES! Windjammer outdoor seating area is directly above. I had read that there was some noise from chair dragging to be expected but thought it was only to be heard during Windjammer hours. I did not know that the outdoor seating area is accessible 24/7 and I would be subject to the noise and reverberations through the metal ceiling above my bed at all hours of the night. Worst of all were the two nights during the cruise when the staff decided to clean the floors in this area, at 2:30AM for at least 90 minutes or more, dragging tables and chairs across the floor and back.

Also, balcony is stepped so at all hours, we constantly had large gatherings of people hanging over the railing from the Windjammer, looking down on us. There was absolutely no privacy. And all those people were very talkative... seemed more like we were sharing our balcony with at least 10-20 people at any given time.

Any other comments? - Nice stateroom and large balcony but I would NEVER book this room again or recommend to anyone.

Ship - Majesty of the Seas

Deck - 6 (the half or "tween" deck)

Stateroom # - 6540

Stateroom Category – F1 (ocean view)

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet!

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No problems

Any other comments? -

  • Small cabin ~120 sq ft
  • Twin/queen lower bed(s), 1 upper Pullman - mattresses were fantastic (best sleep ever)
  • No sitting area - had steward remove "coffee table" & bring extra chair
  • The window allowed an awesome view of downtown Nassau & water view at Coco Cay"
  • located on the half deck or "tween" deck - there are few steps down to deck 5 atrium, shops, casino, Schooner bar, Chorus line Lounge (theater), and Cafe Latta-tudes (awesome for coffee/snack stops)
  • Very convenient location - but elevators in forward of ship often had a wait (used for access to buffet, tenders, going ashore, pool, etc)

Ship - Oasis

Deck 12

Stateroom # 12715

Stateroom Category Boardwalk View

Starboard or Port Side - Syarboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – extremely loud see comments

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - noise

Any other comments? - terrible if you like to nap in the afternoon or go to bed before 11pm. The boardwalk carousel rings a bell every time it starts and stops about every 10 minutes most days and runs until 10pm. Family games in the afternoon and the sound rebounds and funnels up. They start a movie at 8:30pm every night ( like Dunkirk) and play it very loud. Also major sporting events have a lot of yelling and cheering. The windows are not as sound dampening as the promenade view we have stayed in on Adventure. Nice view

Ship - Liberty

Deck - 12

Stateroom # - 1820

Stateroom Category – Panoramic Ocean View

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Noisy around 8 am as deck chairs are arranged on the floor above us; on seas days aerobic music from floor below was loud from about 8 am to 10 am. Bass was very strong so even with earplugs you could feel the walls and bed vibrating rhythmically with the music.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - n/a

Balcony Size? n/a

Was wind a problem? - no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Other than the noise previously mentioned, it was a very nice room with great views

Any other comments? - If you sleep past 8 am, the noise from the deck chairs above and the aerobic classes below will be bothersome; otherwise a nice room. The same room on the port side might be better since it's just a massage area below you on the next deck. Arranging of deck chairs might still be an issue.

Ship - Allure

Deck - 3

Stateroom # - 3830

Stateroom Category – L1

Starboard or Port Side - Interior

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No. Right across from the equipment room for Rising Tide. An alarm goes off every time the lift activates and then the lift is noisy too. At night we must be right above the "main highway" on deck 2 as every footstep, conversation and rolling cart can be heard.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – n/a

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - n/a

Was wind a problem? - n/a

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - no

Any other comments? - we knew an interior cabin was small, but this was VERY small for us. We had two "pack and plays" provided by Royal Caribbean. Poor babies, those things were tattered, bent, ripped and stained. Took me 3 "we need a new one" to get one that was clean and functional.

Ship - Voyager

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9314

Stateroom Category – Junior Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Quiet, midship, close to elevators. Room connects with 9312 but we heard almost nothing from that room which I had been worried about. I needn't have been.

Is stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes with 9312.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Balcony was a good size with great views however it was very rusty in places and the rail desperately needed varnishing. When I complained I was told they are working on them but I couldn't see any workers doing so on the Starboard side. Perhaps the Port side was being done!!

Balcony Size? Slightly bigger than normal as it's on the curve midship.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Only the rusty veranda.

Other comments: The room was large and spacious and exceptionally clean. Loved the walk in closet. Bathroom was a good size with plenty of room for toiletries etc. Great location in the middle of the ship, close to the elevators yet still very quiet. We would book this cabin again, no question.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes, but we didn't use it since we didn't know who was next us

Balcony View - Gorgeous views, no obstructions, very private

Balcony Size? Normal, I guess. We had 2 chairs, a small table and 2 lounge chairs

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A, we were mid-ship

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

Any other comments? - Wonderful cabin, with a walk-in closet and a tub in the bathroom

Oasis of the Seas

Deck 10

Cabin 10644

Category RFS

Royal Family Suite with 2 bedrooms

Sky class suite

Starboard

Very quiet

Large Living room and 2 separate bedrooms with doors. Living room has full sofa couch and 2 armchairs and a bathroom One bedroom is interior, quite small with no window but sleeps 4 —queen bed with 2 pull down from the ceiling twins. The other bedroom is like a standard cabin with balcony view and a second bathroom.

Balcony is double sized with a kitchen table and 6 chairs and 4 loungers.

Balcony view is excellent (midship on the hump)

Category d-6 Cabin 10650 connects to this suite to make the layout 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. The balcony divider can be opened so balcony is then triple length.

10650 has a chair (not a sofa) because of the interior connecting door.

We had 8 people in these 2 cabins and it was really nice and convenient for a family group.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very Quiet.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –N/A

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A

Was wind a problem? -N/A

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Obstruction out front (Oceanview-Bow) window; or so it's stated, on RC website-rooms. Personally, although one can see (downward) the bow of the ship, helipad, railing, and perhaps some upright pole, there's not much obstruction looking forward from the front of ship. Large window. Just be aware, front wall slants outward from top to bottom. For a person like myself, 6 ft tall, and approaching window, I forgot front wall was slanted, and banged my head into upper glass. Didn't forget after that one time.

Any other comments?

Great views when arriving in ports, sunrises. This room, being in very front of ship, it can be a bit of walk for some. (No problem for me-just saying) Beds set up as 2 twins. Had my 2 Grand kids in my room. Grandson slept on other twin. This room only sleeps 2 guests, however, room steward got extra roll away bed for my Granddaughter, and placed it under the slanted window. Room has a large sofa-not a sleeper sofa. Would book this room again.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – for the most part. In the evening you would hear the band from the centrum but that was usually over by 10:00. It was actually nice being able to just walk out your room and look over the edge at the party below.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no neither were

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – no obstructions

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized Both balcony were larger than normal 8086 was a little bigger than 8586

Was wind a problem? - we had 1 day were it was super windy that we felt it out there but usually no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? -no issues with either cabins

Any other comments? - these are the perfect cabins when traveling to Alaska with someone. They are on opposite sides of the ship but a short hallway connect them. You could open your door and see the other door. We stayed in one and my parents stayed in the other. If we saw a whale or a lighthouse we could call their room and they could walk right over and see it and if they did we would go over to their room. With the oversized balconies it made it really nice. My mom has Parkinson's so it was super nice to be right by the elevators also and we didn't notice any noise from them. The beds are by the balcony. I saw that mattered to some.

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Overall very quiet. Near elevators/stairwells but did not hear noises from there. The steward's work room is directly across from the cabin door. We did hear some cart noises later in the morning, but it was not a problem. Could also hear wind whistle through balcony door at times. (seals not very tight?)

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Excellent. Only could see lifeboats if you looked straight down. No obstructions.

Balcony Size? - 50 sq ft. Standard ocean view. Two chairs (do not recline) and a small round table.

Was wind a problem? - Sometimes, could not dine on the balcony due to wind. (but it was a VERY windy cruise)

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

Any other comments? Bed by door, couch by balcony. Great location if you do not want to walk far once off the stairs or elevators. Easy access to Central Park.

Ship - Oasis of the Seas

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9229

Stateroom Category – Central Park VIEW

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – The stateroom is midship, but is right next to the hallway/closet/service room that the stewards use each day, morning & night, to bring up laundry, glasses for the bathrooms, carts, etc. So, I would not say it is quiet. We heard nothing from above, and we heard little noise from the Central Park area below on 8 (which is pretty quiet), but when the music was loud up on the pool deck, depending on the wind, we could sometimes hear that music wafting down. This cabin, 9229, is often advertised as being larger than other cabins (229 suffix) and that may be true, but in the case of a Central Park VIEW stateroom, rather than a Central Park Balcony, I am not sure this made much difference, and the noise from the service room/hall next door probably outweighs any size benefit there may be.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – This is a Central Park View room. It has a large window that juts out above the Trellis Bar below on 8, I believe. Since it is a View (window) not a balcony, they have put in a huge window seat abutting the window. I figured out on about day 5 that this window seat is an excellent place to put your large suitcases, side by side, and be able to access your clothing, etc. directly from your suitcases, if you like. The view was fine, fairly quiet to the Central Park area below. But, of course you have other guests directly across Central Park from you, so you have to keep the drapes closed if you are changing or sleeping in the cabin - people can see right in the window with no problem.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A

Was wind a problem? - N/A

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - See above. Also, the shower light was out (if there was supposed to be one; it looked like there was; the water leaked substantially from the shower head connection to the hose - didn't affect the water pressure, but was a little annoying; and the closet doors did not have a guide on the floor, so on our last evening, when there were some rough seas, in the middle of the night, we heard some banging in the closet area, and it took us about 2 hours to figure out it wasn't the safe door; it wasn't the wooden hangers; it was the two closet doors banging against each other near the floor. Had to stick a handtowel in between the two doors to make it stop. Personally, I thought the bathroom was pretty small, and I thought the drawer space was very limited for a 1 week cruise (two usable drawers in the desk, and about 6 open shelves in the closet - plus lots of hanging space in the closet).

Any other comments? - Would not select this cabin, or any cabin next to a service corridor, again.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Not quiet ....this is an extremely noisy cabin . The Coastal Kitchen is directly above and we were woken up every night to carts rolling and pans clanging that some nights continued for almost an hour . Most things in the kitchen are stainless steel and you hear every bang and clang . The rolling carts overhead were awful . Avoid this cabin and any cabin under the kitchen areas if you want a good nights sleep.

Ship - Explorer of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7388

Stateroom Category – E1

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, got to hear the crew intercom messages as the crew hang out on deck 5 at the back.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Cabins pretty much what we expected, not being able to open the balcony divider was annoying but not a deal breaker. Had 7388 and 7390.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Kids were in 7390, had a balcony likely 6 times bigger than the mid ship balconies, two sun loungers, two chairs and a decent table. DH and I had 7388, I cried and thanked God when I saw the size of our balcony and the furniture! Two sun loungers, two laid back deck chairs and two standard chairs, a low table and a big table. Fully covered by deck 8. There is a view out the side of the ship and a massive view out the back. There is some obstruction with the superstructure of the ship, but when relaxing on the deck we hardly noticed it. Yes, we spent a lot of time out there. Size of balcony I would estimate is 8 times that of a standard balcony.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No, but there was sea salt & spray.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None.

Any other comments? - Will defnitely book again.
