SmokinActuary Posted July 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2010 I have been reading that there have been issues with the Livorno port. Either they make it difficult for a driver to meet you at the port exit, or it becomes a tender port or even worse still you dock in La Spezia. Frankly I am getting scared because I booked a tour through contexttravel and it is non-refundable. Now I know that is risky but if a ship misses a port for mechanical reasons I am covered but I did not anticipate contingencies such as these. What have you head regarding Livorno? Nebr.cruiser Posted July 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2010 Actually the only thing I have heard is that the trains don't always run due to strikes and it can be hard to get a taxi to the train station. We were there in April and our driver was right there at the ship when we got off, so all was well. This was on RCI.
Rare Keith1010 Posted July 6, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2010 I don't think you should have problems. I would recommend having your cell phone and being sure that you have a contact number and that they have yours in the event you have any problems finding them at the pier.
