Royal Suites on M Class

I have some questions of anyone who has stayed in a Royal Suite aboard Summit or any other M Class ship. Is the computer station active with equipment and internet connection? Is there a CD player or DVD player? What size is the bed? Does the sofa bed handle 2 children comfortably?

We had the Royal Suite on the Summit last year and it was fabulous!

 

Yes there is a computer and printer in the suite and ready to go when you get a "package" from the computer lab onboard.

There is a CD player and I don't remember if there is a DVD player. There is a beautiful flat screen TV in the living room and in the bedroom!

The sofa bed slept 2 adults just fine for us - so children - no problem!!!

There is also a maid's room and a stable for the ponies i dont think you can land your jet on the deck

We were recently in a Royal Suite on the Summit and didn't have a printer. We didn't have to go to the computer lab for any kind of "package". We just signed on like we would have done had we gone down to use the public computers. The only cost was for the usage.

 

Was the printer part of the package that you got from the computer lab?

There is a dvd and VCR in the RS on the Summit.

 

I believe the bed was a queen.

 

There is also a cute little port hole in the bedroom...with a little button that will close/open a shade to the port hole. It took my DH about a day to figure it out....and he was then proud of himself. :p

 

So much storage....with two adults/two children...we still had drawers/shelves that were empty. Really!

We booked the Royal Suite on Summit for May 6th repositioning cruise.

Have a question for those of you who stayed in the Royal Suite: We recently sailed on the Norwegian Star and had the Owner's Suite which is very similar to the Royal Suite.

 

It had a great ship phone in it that we were able to take with us all over the ship. Our friends simply dialed our cabin number and they could locate us at any time. Does the Royal Suite on Summit have a phone such as this?

 

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There is not a phone you can carry around with you as with NCL.

 

There is also not a DVD player on the Infinity. We even had our own portable and couldn't hook it up to the tV.

 

Have a great time as the RS's are wonderful.

There are two DVD players along with two large flat Plasma TV's in the suites. One of each in both the bedroom and living room area.

No.

 

It does have three regular phones. Bathroom, Bedroom and Living Room.

As posted above, there is a DVD in both rooms.

 

About the ship's selection: Hhhmmm.. I don't remember. I do remember that we didn't care for anything that they had to offer. We travel with children, and there was nothing appropriate for them. The rating were off. We chose a PG movie...and it was actually rated R.

 

I would highly recommend not relying on the ship's supply. Bring a few DVD's of your own..... :)

 

ps. Don't forget CD's. There is a great CD player...built into the wall....near the computer.

Most likely the Summit and Infinity are going to be identical in this area, so, speaking from the Infinity RS experience, the answer is no, they do not have this.

 

Personally, being 'unreachable' at certain times, is just fine with me, even if travelling with friends.

Boo's Mom: Thanks for the suggestion on bringing some music CD's...great idea! This past January we were on the Infinity in a Sky Suite which had a VHS vidio tape player but no DVD player. We had an opportunity to check out a Royal Suite and if I recall correctly, the had the two flat screen TV's but only the older VHS players. That is why I was so glad to hear when you said the Summit has DVD players in their Royal Suites. Much easier to pack DVD's. Thanks for your help.

We always bring our own music CD's as ships selection are not very good.

 

As to DVD's, Norwegian had a decent selection but nothing that was "new". Most of the ships selection are older titles.

 

This time, we will bring our own.

 

The Royal Suite sounds INCREDIBLE!!! We can't wait until May.
