HAl vs NCL vs RCCL vs CCL vs PCL vs Celebrity

Recommended Posts

We found out hat Holland America, Norwegian, Royal Carribean, Carnival, Princess, Costa, Disney, and Celebrity, were all affordable to us. Which is the best line for a 35 year old female, 14 Year old male, and 7 year old male.

Specifically:

MS Eurodam

Norwegian Spirit

Mariner of the Seas

Carnival Conquest

Emerald Princess

Celebrity Solstice

Disney

and

Costa Atlantica

List reasons please. We need alot of help!

I would stick to a cruiseline that has a strong children and teens program. Royal Caribbean offers the widest appeal for Teens, in my opinion and in the opinion of my teens. (Some of the other cruiselines you listed have an older and more sedate crowd and are less accomodating to families) My children were bored on Carnival...the kids club seemed to appeal only to the very young and there was not enough organized activity for teens/tweens.

Mariner of the Seas is one of the more beloved ships in the RCCL fleet...there is something very special in the atmopshere aboard her. We couldn't recommend this ship more to a family with your diverse ages - there is truly something for everyone! Emerald princess would be my second choice. Both have stellar service.

The freestyle concept of NCL does not appeal to us, so we would never consider it.

You really need to list more of what your are looking for in a cruise. What's most important? Activities, kids program, food, fellow passengers, itinerary? How many cruises have you done in the past?

I did alot of cruising as a single Mom my daughters were 15 and 16 when we started it was their ultimate favorite and now years later they still stay in touch with old Disney cruise friends. I have been on Carnival , RCCL and HAL. Hands down Disney is the absloute best. They have amazing programs for younger kids, teens and tweens. The food is great, the entertainment is great and the Adult only areas are wonderful. Lots of families but lots of solo parents as well. The only down side if it is one for you would be no casino. Carnival is all party RCCL is okay but we did not love it, HAL is the ultimate luxury and the Eurodam is beautiful.. if you were older the kids would be bored to tears. I believe that Disney has a reputation to maintain on land as well as at sea so they are great at everthing they do. If Castaway Cay is one of the stops it is worth going just for that. We do not like RCCL private island of Labadee, Half Moon Cay is beautiful (HAL & Carnival) but nothing compares to Disneys Castaway Cay.

While HAL is a great cruiseline, the average passenger age is over 60. Unless there is some overriding consideration, I would eliminate HAL from my list for now.

RCCL is a much better choice for your demographics.
