Viking transfers

We will be arriving in Munich a couple of days before our Viking river cruise. We would like to purchase transfers to the boat but Viking is telling us we can't purchase transfers unless

we come in on a flight the same day as the transfer. Has anyone purchased transfers without arriving on a same day flight?

Viking hotel,,,you can purchase transfer to ship....but its just as easy to get taxi,,,check out prices,,,can google exact fair.....most won t pick you up from another hotel.....from airport,,,maybe if next day ,,,,but just take taxi and no problem..but DO get exact pier location ...may need to have hotel concierge write it in German to be on safe side...We had purchased transfer and missed connecting flight,,,,no refunds.....so not such a good deal,really.....;)

It was much cheaper for us to take a taxi then it was to pay the Viking transfer fare. At the end of the cruise, same thing. You might luck out and find someone else staying at your hotel who is going on the same ship as you and be able to share a cab with them.

We have a 15 hour flight and there is no way I would get to Munich the day of the cruise. I wish Viking would revisit this policy. We took a hotel right at the Munich airport so we could pick up the shuttle.
