ging466 Posted July 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2010 Have any of u SS frequent floaters done the Tikal or Copan shore excursions in Guatemala? Both of these are expensive (US$639 - flying involved) and are very long (9 hours) and I'm wondering which one is the better choice. I can't do both so I need to choose one. Any advice? loujimbabe Posted July 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2010 We did the Tikal earlier this year. Friends of ours did Copan. We enjoyed ours, but I got the feeling that the Copan people liked theirs just a tad better...

It's really hard to decide what to do when both excursions are on at the same time and cost the same. Cheers Jennifer
CruisinPashmina Posted July 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2010 I can only speak about the one to Copan The day is a really long one, but the site is worth every hour of driving. There's also a fascinating museum, quite small with choice articles from the site. We even loved the long drive to Copan as we passed thru beautiful scenery which was interrupted by very small, settlements at the edge of the road. We got to see life as it was being lived and those colorful, intimate glimpses into Guatamala's rural way of life were such a contrast to the grandeur at Copan. Really a great trip...even lunch in the town near the preserve was very good. Major thumbs up for the whole experience. Cheers.
