JBVols Posted July 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2010 We just returned from a Black Sea cruise on the Nautica. We were in a PH suite and bath gel, shampoo and conditioner were not labeled with any brand name. My wife says they are inferior to what we had before. She recommends you bring your on. orchestrapal Posted July 23, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Beyond the normal offering) ,no name, they have Hermes for Men and Clarins Paris for women in beautiful take home bags in the suites. They also have very nice bath salts which are replaced each day.:)
kimiata Posted July 24, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2010 In our "concierge" cabin last year, they were some generic "O" brand. I would recommend to bring your own if that stuff matters to you at all. I ended up having to buy some conditioner at the ship's boutique.

Well, that is not encouraging. At the prices Oceania charges, I would expect very nice toiletries, especially in concierge class and suites. Crystal, HAL suites, Celebrity Concierge class, all had nice toiletries, although I am not a fan of the fragrance (Rosemary Mint) of the Aveda toiletries on Crystal. Hopefully, in 2011 Oceania will upgrade their toiletries. I don't think we should need to pack our own, though we may have to if the toiletries are substandard. Maybe I'm just not as fussy as some other folks but I found the regular toiletries provided perfectly fine even though we were given the fancy stuff (which I took home for our daughters). It was not heavily perfumed and worked just fine for my hair.Really no reason to buy and bring your own.:)
potterhill Posted July 25, 2010 #9 Share Posted July 25, 2010 I/we have always used the provided toilertries. I fell in love with the soap on our first cruise in 05 and of course it was changed when we returned the next year. It was a peach coloured egg shape. I have been smelling soap ever since and was thrilled this past winter to find it-lemongrass! I bought quite a supply when in Paris this spring. No, they may not be what I use at home but they are good enough for two weeks and then I don't have to worry about it breaking in my luggage. I have had this happen before and it makes for a lot of soap! Never mind that some things are not washable.... Mo
CintiPam Posted July 27, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 27, 2010 In the non-suite cabins, I strongly suggest that you bring your own hair products (shampoo and conditioner), a lesson I learned during our first O cruise. :)
