Been There, Planning That Posted August 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2010 We've never done a HAL GPS walking tour but there's one offered for Key West. Has anyone used the device? If so is much information given of an historical nature? Would we be better off going with the herd on a walking tour? I haven't been in Key West for decades and my husband has never been, so we'd like to get a flavour of this American town. Any advice would be welcome, thanks. pizzalady1 Posted August 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Can someone fill me in on what this is and where they are for? Thanks!
Crazy Gramps Posted August 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Take one of the trolly tours. The ships shuttle will drop you right off at the trolly terminal. Don't miss the Hemingway House. Gramps
Been There, Planning That Posted August 21, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Thanks for the tip. Since we're doing a back to back we'll actually have two stops in Key West, so the trolley would be a good first option to get oriented. Krazy Kruizers Posted August 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2010 We loved touring the Little White House -- Hemmingways House. Either the Conch Train or the Trolley train -- both great. If you are there only a few hours - it is really hard to get on and off at each of the stops because of the limited time. We did a walking tour a few years ago -- even stopping at Hemingways House took a lot of time.
Been There, Planning That Posted August 21, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Thanks Krazy Kruiser, It would seem that we'd do a more efficient tour on our own using either the Conch or the trolley. We've learned to focus only on what is of interest to us and often find mass group tours deadly. Good advice, thanks Ruth
