Duck Duck Cruise Posted October 9, 2010 Author #152 Share Posted October 9, 2010 I almost forgot to post the disembarkation day information. WEDNESDAY – OCTOBER 6 – DISEMBARKATION DAY We woke up this morning knowing we had a long travel day ahead of us. We called Malcolm and Joyce to see if they were going to have breakfast in the main dining room and joined them. After breakfast we still had some time to kill before our 9:00 disembarkation time so we went to Crooner’s and sat and visited. Disembarkation was a breeze. We met at 9:00, disembarked, got a cab, got to the airport, checked our bags, went through security, and were waiting at our gate at the airport at 10:30. Our first layover was at Dallas/Fort Worth (the most miserable airport in the world IMHO) and we had to wait a few minutes to get to our gate because a beer truck was parked there blocking the way. Our next stop was in Portland, Oregon where we had enough time to get some dinner at Gustav’s Pub in the airport. We had a beer, halibut fish and chips, and some beer battered onion rings. All were very good. After a few fits and starts, we were finally able to board our plane for the final leg of our trip to Eugene. Twenty five minutes later we landed and were being picked up curbside by our son. At baggage claim our bags were #1 and #3 coming onto the turnstile. HOORAY!
