TRIXON Posted September 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2010 I have recently found a web site that talks amongst other things about having to have a GP letter with you to explain why you are carrying your normal drugs or certain drugs. These in my case are classed as Controlled Drug B on their lists. I had never even thought about it. We have travelled to many places but never Dubai and the Emerates. Has anyone had any experiance about this. They even mention tablets such as Codeine.

CtheW0rld Posted September 19, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2010 even simple over-the-counter drugs in the US, can get you a mandatory 4-year sentence in dubai. you better do some very thourough research, and not rely on these bulletin boards. KarenBond Posted September 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2010 Agreed. Whenever you are going onboard a cruise ship with medication, it is always good to go visit the ships medical team, just to let them know. You can then ask them about any medications you are taking, and what the policy is. I always recommend people try to visit the medical staff on the first or second day of the cruise, so you wont have to worry about it or have it on your mind later on. TRIXON Posted September 28, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted September 28, 2010 I have already consulted with my doctor. ;) It seems that it is normal now that the surgery print off a full list of drugs & medication that you are on. Thereby showing anyone that they have been prescribed by your GP. I shall get a list nearer the time of our cruise.
