lla887 Posted September 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Just wondering what the average sail and sign bill is for a 7 day cruise. Mine have ranged from $400 to $1200. What is your average sail and sign bill?
Tree Hugger Posted September 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Only been on two cruises, the first time we spent ~$500 for the whole family of 4 Last time we spent $1,700 for just two of us, and the bulk of that was in the spa, we spent less than $10 on booze surprisingly. lla887 Posted September 22, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted September 22, 2010 We cruised with friends whose sail and sign bill was $3300 dollars. There was a little tension between them the morning that bill was delivered :).
Bunkie103 Posted September 22, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 22, 2010 On our Dream cruise in August the Sail and Sign bill was $24.59.....for four travelers, BUT we had $597 of OBC from Early saver!
ChefSusan Posted September 22, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2010 We're not really big drinkers, will have a couple of sodas throughout the week, usually go to the Steakhouse at least once, don't purchase anything of real value from the Jewelry store, and I usually have one spa day. NOW if we were big drinkers, our S&S would be around $1000! Our last cruise, the S&S bill was $200... but then again, we were in Alaska.
Acklander Posted September 22, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 22, 2010 We usually average about $200 a day so $1400 for a 7 day cruise. We usually have one night in the specialty restaurant; some casino, some bingo, always wine with dinner, a few drinks of the day and maybe some spa (but not always). None of the expenses are for excursions as we usually book that ourselves. I guess the fact that we smuggle some booze on board (for drinking on the balcony) hasn't hurt the company's bottom line. TNM Posted September 22, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Mine was $300 for a 4 day cruise...$150 of this was alcohol, $80 was tips and the rest was misc (elegant night pic, earrings from the shops, espresso, etc)...
A&Jfamily Posted September 22, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 22, 2010 We cruise with 5 people - usually 7 days. So, there is $350 off the top for tips. When you throw in Supper Club for 2, and drinks we are usually running about $600???
tiggerman101 Posted September 22, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 22, 2010 We don't drink and rarely do photos. I always prepay tips as well. We do love the supper club and will go a couple times if the ship we are on has one. If we ever do a Cruise Line shore excursion then it is also paid ahead of time.I love the coffee shop and my partner will get a soda card depending on the cruise. Our sail and sign is usually a couple hundred. I think our lowest was $55 on the Victory.
RjayB Posted September 22, 2010 #10 Share Posted September 22, 2010 $100/day on average (for two people), although too much of that is on photos:rolleyes: The rest is booze:p
JennLuvs2Cruise Posted September 22, 2010 #11 Share Posted September 22, 2010 My fiance, our 9 month old son & myself were on the Dream this past June and our S&S bill was around 1,200.. fiance did a little bit gambling using his S&S card, I did some bingo & cash craze pull tabs, lots of drinks, and some light shopping. I didn't think it was a terrible bill.. especially since I won the 1,500 Cash Craze so that took care of the bill ;)
Senoj84 Posted September 22, 2010 #12 Share Posted September 22, 2010 First couple of cruises have always been less than $350 for just me. My last cruise was a little over $500.
mali06 Posted September 22, 2010 #13 Share Posted September 22, 2010 I am budgeting for our cruise in January on the Legend . . . 140.00 tips (not counting the cash we leave extra), 150.00 Chef's Table plus 30.00 tip, 2 excursions already chosen 228.00, 100.00 for drinks (we're not big drinkers), 100.00 for a few souvenirs like ship shirts, round up to a total of 800.00 just in case and there ya go! lillian marie Posted September 22, 2010 #14 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Our S&S bill has been higher than $500 when we've booked several tours and bought art.
elcuchio24 Posted September 22, 2010 #15 Share Posted September 22, 2010 We prepay for any escursions we do, so we usually have a pretty low S&S balence. Usually between 300-400 on a 7 nighter. Our last cruise we had $440 OBC from ES claims, on the morning of debarkation got our S&S print out and a check for $65 for the left over OBC!! How sweet OBC is......:D
elcuchio24 Posted September 22, 2010 #16 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Last cruise we were on I hear these two dudes talking next door as I'm getting my S&S bill/check from the little mail box hanger on the Liberty.---“I really didn’t realize how much those drinks were, I just ordered them without looking. Oh man, they really add up don’t they?” “Yes, its just too easy to hand them that card. Oh man………..oooh man.”
grumpyjr88 Posted September 22, 2010 #17 Share Posted September 22, 2010 My first cruise, our final S&S statement was about $150. We brought a lot of our alcohol (I think the policy was different back then?) The cruise I just went on, our S&S was about $1300 - $250 at spa, $100 on an excursion, $300 on gift shop, remainder on DODs (yikes!) We were prepared and had been depositing money into a 'Cruise Fund' for about a year though. :)

dstone Posted September 22, 2010 #20 Share Posted September 22, 2010 We have cruised many times and we prepay the tips and book excursions online ourselves. The last 4 cruises we had a $0 balance! We have used onboard credit for the few px we get and a cruise for me.
