howiefrommd Posted October 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2010 Just got home from port (after driving down there). We are taking the Pride today, they just told us when we pulled in that she is running late and do not return until at least 2 PM. We have had this before, usually it has something to do with the Chesapeake Bay. Would love to hear more if anyone has info.
howiefrommd Posted October 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2010 Just a quick follow up. Just got off the phone with Carnival and they said it is due to "Weather."
Only1dee Posted October 3, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2010 the reason we are late getting in, it is due to the strong winds, making the announcement now to begin self assist.
howiefrommd Posted October 3, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2010 Was it a rough trip?
mmp13 Posted October 3, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted October 3, 2010 thank You everyone. My son ans his wife are sailing on pride today. They have sailed with us before but this is their first solo cruise. they went to the pier early and were paniced when the ship was not there. (thought they were in the wrong place) We did look at the weather map and saw that there were heavy storms at the mouth of the bay so we assumed a weather delay! Ace5614 Posted October 4, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 4, 2010 does anybody know why the pride is late getting into baltimore today? We did have rough seas but I still think there is something with the Pride. 1. Moved up dry dock and cancelled cruises. Why would you make many cruiser angry just to move up dry dock a couple of months? 2. This was our 10th cruise and the ship viberated like no other we were on before. Not just on the rear of the ship but even on the front. 3. They keep moving up departure times on the ports. i.e. Freeport. First is was 3:00, then 2:00 and now 1:30. We even left a few minutes early and was still 3 hours late. Does anyone else think something is wrong with the Pride? 09/26/2009 CARNIVAL PRIDE 01/04/2009 COSTA FORTUNA 11/09/2008 CARNIVAL LEGEND 10/20/2007 CARNIVAL GLORY 10/28/2006 CARNIVAL TRIUMPH 12/05/2004 CARNIVAL MIRACLE 10/29/2000 PARADISE 10/01/1998 TROPICALE 01/17/1997 ECSTASY 09/29/1995 ECSTASY

vacruizer Posted October 9, 2010 #11 Share Posted October 9, 2010 22 kts. That's pretty standard speed, although on both our Pride cruises we've hit 25 knots headed back North after Freeport. They do sometimes have to slow down in rough seas or due to wind, though.
Seago2 Posted October 9, 2010 #12 Share Posted October 9, 2010 When is she now scheduled for dry dock?
Fazzdaan Posted October 9, 2010 #13 Share Posted October 9, 2010 I have seen the Spirit at just a tad over 22 kts and that is the stated top cruising speed so I dunno what's going on.
