Quick Review - Carnival Legend 10/3-10/10

Just a quick review on this trip which was excellent:

Saturday arrival in Tampa - Grand Hyatt stay with $ 50.00 bid.....see ports of call board for bidding tips.

Embarkation - no real issues.......maybe 20-30 minute check-in and on-board.

First Sea Day - lots of fun but the Hairy Chest Competition is approaching a PG13 rating.

Grand Caymen - windy, tough short tender. Did Capt. Marvin's Stingray and snorkel.....treated us well but with the wind and current, would not have been a good day for a weak swimmer (just have to be comfortable in the water).

Cozumel - Sail, Snorkel and Beach excursion (Carnival ) cancelled. Only complaint was Carnival did not notify us during the 30 minute wait in the lounge (come-on Carnival, you should have this type of information when you ask guests to gather). With the excursion cancelled, rented Jeep Wrangler and toured the island.....easy drive and beautiful beach stops. Only minor driving challenge is in downtown as the streets are not named. After jeep return, Margaritas in port (forgot the name of the restuarant on the end) but they were "killer".

Roatan - did Victor Bodden tours including stop for monkeys/parrots at Victor's home. Roatan is a beautiful island and an individual tour was a great way to see the island for us. Had a little time left over to check out the Carnival beach (two thumbs up) and a quick Bellini at Fat Tuesday's.

Belize - can't say enough good things about cavetubing.com......they are totally committed to showing you a great time and eliminating any concerns about you not getting back to the port on time, etc. Tour included delicious lunch of rice and chicken. If you like a fun adventure in a foreign country, I recommend this excursion. Also, if you are a serious couch-potato, this is probably not the tour for you as the walk from the parking lot to where you enter the river is a good 20 minutes (not a bad walking path, but if your idea of exercise is from the refrigerator to the lazy-boy, you might want to give this some thought).

Last Sea Day - perfect weather and the Farewell Party was a blast for the few who attended.

Shows - Welcome Aboard OK, Jazz Good, New Orleans Great.

MDR - late seating. Low passenger turnout but food was always good with great wait staff (Nelson and Mario).

Golden Fleece - food and service was so good we did it twice.

Ship - in good shape from my perspective. Ok, I did see a worn spot here and there, but no issues.

Disembark - a relative breeze after breakfast in the MDR.

Let me know if you have any questions.
