Fortune House

My parents found this hotel on some internet site. Trip Advisor gives it weird reviews. It is a downtown condo/hotel. Any insight from Cruise Critic?

Reviews on tripadvisor would make me too nervous to stay there...some are ok but there are plenty of very bad ones that would make me leary....I would look for something else.

The Fortune House is a hotel/condo/residential building. I was going to stay there overnight in 2006, when I had a flight out the next day after a cruise. I called the airline, and was able to get a later flight the same day the cruise ship returned. I called the hotel to cancel my reservation, and had the cancellation number. We were in the airport getting ready to board the plane, the hotel called my phone and informed me that THEY had to cancel my reservation because of a leak/broken sewer line on one off the floors, which had flooded the lower floors (with sewage). Needless to say I informed the rep, that I had cancelled earlier, and they had no knowlege of it. I did check my CC later to make sure they didnt bill me.
