Oceanfront Hotel Fort Lauderdale/close to port

Hello all,

 

New to this site but I guess I'll just start throwing my questions out one at a time. Taking the wife on her first cruise in May, looking for nice oceanfront hotel close to port as we are arriving early and just want to lounge on the beach the day before we set sail. Thanks so much!!

My #1 vote would be The Lago Mar.

consider this a strong second. Happy hubby's family has been a member of their beach club for 40 years.

Lago Mar, Marriott Harbor Beach, and Sheraton Ft Lauderdale Beach are the 3 hotels directly on the beach closest to the port. Lago Mar is closest and offers the closest view of the ships coming in in the morning.
