Miami hotel help pls

I'm trying to help a friend who's leaving Miami on the Liberty the

end of January. He wants a hotel where he can leave his car

(for free) and get a shuttle to the cruiseport.

 

We were told about the Extended Stay in Miami, but do you know of

any others? Downtown would be preferred, but I know most of the

better hotels do not let you leave your car there.

 

Maybe he'd be better off with a hotel nearer the airport.......

Have you read thru all the suggestions on the Florida Departures board?? That is your best bet.

 

I would also look at hotels near the airport that would be more likely to have free parking that time of year. Its high season so hotels will be expensive.

A cab from the airport area is only $24...from the port area is only about $8-10...If he can find a hotel that allows parking, the cab fare isn't a budget breaker...just grab a cab!

I wouldn't worry about a shuttle!

I don't think any of the downtown hotels offer parking for the duration of the cruise, except at an exorbitant price. If downtown is a requirement, parking at the pier is probably a better deal, and even then, parking at the hotel for just the night you are there will be expensive Check out hotels near the airport and you might find one that fits your needs. We have had very good luck in getting downtown Miami hotels at bargain prices using Priceline. If he can get one of those, the added cost of parking might be less of a factor.
