Clamshells at HMC Jan 15

I have tried to reserve a clamshell Jan 15 and am on a 'waitedlist' Has anyone ever been called off the wait list? The cabannas are expensive for just two. If you cannot get a clamshell and choose not to get a cabanna, what else is there to do? Thanks for any advise

I was waitlisted for a clam shell 2 years ago, and got one when we boarded. People who waited til they got to HMC to try to get one were out of luck.

 

There are some areas of shade where you can pull loungers, and I've seen people bring their own sun shelters and umbrellas, though that seems like a lot of work to me.

 

There is a surfaced walking trail around the island that you can take to explore, and if you're really desperate to get out of the sun for a while, there are always the covered dining pavilions. There are also a number of misting stations where you can cool off.

People who have reserved clam shells change their minds, and you may just end up with one.

Find a tree and get in the shade! You really don't need to spend the $$ to get out of the sun!

I see the OP is on HAL. Does Carnival allow you to reserve clamshells at HMC? If so, how, and how much do they cost?
