2SeaWithMe Posted January 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2011 Has anyone done these? Since it's a private island, I'm assuming they use the lifeboats? For someone with mobility problems, how difficult is the embark/debark? Thanks!
Denny01 Posted January 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2011 Has anyone done these? Since it's a private island, I'm assuming they use the lifeboats? For someone with mobility problems, how difficult is the embark/debark? Thanks! We anchored at CocaCay on our Mercury Thanksgiving cruise this year (sorry, last year 2010!) and they used ferries (not lifeboats) from the Island. They were large and I saw more than a few people using wheelchairs. They had special beach/sand wheelchairs with huge wheels to go into the sand. I didn't think I'd enjoy it that much - I'm from Fla and don't hit the beaches on cruises much because I'm such a snob and think our beautiful white sand beaches here in the Panhandle are the 'best'! But loved CocaCay. Great setup. Lots of shade, nice beach buffet, beautiful beaches and lots to do. enjoy! Denny

We stopped there on Galaxy several years back and had a great time. Make sure you bring water shoes as there are some rocky spots in the water.
