IMKTDQT810 Posted January 31, 2014 #533 Share Posted January 31, 2014 I'm trying to figure out the internet pricing. Do I plan on being attached to the internet...nope, not at those prices. But I do own an business that is online and I do need to check on it daily (log on real fast and maybe reply to an e-mail or two). So I'm trying to figure out while in any of the ports can I be on the ship and use wifi from land? That would cut out about 3 days work of work I don't have to pay for. Just wondering...thanks!!! Rare rrraydon Posted February 5, 2014 Author #535 Share Posted February 5, 2014 Pride's RC for the repositioning is up to over 100 ALREADY and it hasn't even been a week since the opening of sales!! So happy she's getting the 2.0 upgrades and coming home. The itinerary for this cruise is awesome!

The Local Village Bar in Grand Turk has free Wi-Fi. I doubt that there's any on HMC, since it's a private island.
NCTribeFan Posted February 15, 2014 #537 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Well, I just changed my early May cruise from what was to be my 7th Fantasy cruise to Pride. I've wanted to sail her for a long time. Been on Miracle twice and just love the layout. I really don't care for Carnival's other ship designs. Thing that had held me back was the rather dull itineraries (yes, I understand you can only sail so far in a week) and the price. Since I'm often solo these days, I just couldn't justify paying a huge amount to "only" sail to the Bahamas when I could drive to Charleston (love the city) and "only" sail to the Bahamas for less money. Anyway, I had planned on booking Leg 2 of the repo for December when I returned from my Conquest repo this past November. But when I got home, I discovered that Carnival had cancelled those two cruises. I was bummed. But it did cause me to hunt for something else and I booked on what will be a fantastic Splendor repositioning cruise. So I stumbled across the Grand Turk, HMC, and Freeport itinerary and realized that I had a casino offer AND there was no solo supplement! Since I was splitting my Fantasy cruise with two friends, this is still going to cost me a chunk more, but I'll have my cabin all to myself. :D Really looking forward to it. Must finalize plans this weekend as I'm a CPA and am already hitting 60 hrs/wk, which doesn't leave me much planning time. Friend has a son who works at Johns Hopkins, so I wonder if I could drive up Saturday and get a hotel nearby, leave my car at his place, and get him to shuttle me to the pier. I just have a hard time paying an extra $60 or more for a parking/shuttle package. Every dollar I don't spend before the cruise is another dollar I can spend on board or in port. ;) Booked an inside on Riviera, but looking at the deck plans, the mid-ship insides on Deck 6 & 7 look different - more square. I know how deceptive the deck plans can be. Anyone have any first-hand experience in one of those?

mousey Posted February 20, 2014 #539 Share Posted February 20, 2014 I'm so excited for all of you going on the updated Pride. She was the last cruise we took. We sailed out of Baltimore because my SIL lives in DE and it was a short drive for her. We're from CA but were at a golf tournament with the DS in NC so it was also an easy drive for us to meet and cruise from there. We met a lovely couple on the cruise that made it really special. It was one of my favorite cruises as it was the last one we took before the DS went off to college. The couple we met are going on the Pride re-positioning cruise also. Wish we could join them! Have a great time everyone!:D
grumpyjr88 Posted February 20, 2014 #540 Share Posted February 20, 2014 Has anyone sailed in May? We've been checking everyday for fttf to open up but if she's typically late then there's no point. WetToes Posted February 20, 2014 #542 Share Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) grumpjr88 - We did last year. She was on time. I'm sure your money would be refunded if she were to run late. Typically it's the winter months that muck with the schedule. Edited February 20, 2014 by WetToes
suz1450 Posted February 20, 2014 #543 Share Posted February 20, 2014 NCTribeFan, I had an inside cabin on deck 7 in Sept & it was the smallest cabin I've ever had! This time we took a 4k on deck 4.
NCTribeFan Posted February 21, 2014 #544 Share Posted February 21, 2014 suz - was it one of those forward of the atrium? The ones that "look" square on the deck plans? I did find one partial photo of one on Spirit and it looks just like the 1A I had on Conquest (7345), which is actually wider than a regular inside (so large they have two beds on the floor instead of the typical upper/lower). No real hallway when you walk in - closets then counter on the left all the way down to the little oval table at the end. Bathroom on the right as you enter the cabin. Definitely a different layout than the insides I had on Glory (the ones that look just like the generic inside pics on Carnival's website). I might have gone for a French Door but there aren't any available. Since I'm already paying considerably more than I would've for my original Fantasy cruise (with 3 in the cabin), I'm not sure I'd spring for the upgrade, even though I'd love to try one of those cabins. I'm going to keep checking the website just in case one comes open.

suz1450 Posted February 21, 2014 #546 Share Posted February 21, 2014 NCTribeFan- our cabin was towards the back of the ship above the restaurant. It had 2 beds pushed together and 2 uppers for the kids. Couldn't even walk around the bed due to the upper bunks!
AJI2596 Posted February 21, 2014 #547 Share Posted February 21, 2014 How are the 4K's? We were able to get them for our free cabin offer.
