marelind Posted January 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2011 I know about paying corkage upon embarkation. No problem. But we have two cruises coming up where our first port is a US port. Has anyone out there purchased wine at a US port mid-cruise and paid the corkage and consumed it on board. The best answer I could get from the PCC was no liquor can be carried on from any port and that we can't carry on from a foreign port due to duty free issues. spacewoman Posted January 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2011 ask when you're getting off in the port. We've been told both yes and no on our various cruises. Our Jewel trip we brought beer back on, I still had a lot of wine I paid corkage for so I didn't ask about wine. Years ago when we were on the Spirit we were allowed beer back on in St. Thomas, so you never know. I tend to think it's also whatever time of the year you're traveling as well. jdvmd Posted January 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2011 We have done this but not with a U.S. port, only South America and Europe. Those times, a person was sitting at a table and people paid the corkage as soon as they went through security.

garycarla Posted January 11, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2011 Your chances of getting a straight answer from NCL customer service is slim to none. You will either pay $15 a bottle, or get luck and pay nothing. Nothing to do with duty free or customs at that point.
abugs Posted January 11, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2011 We did a Pacific Coastal cruise this past October and we brought wine on at several of the ports. There was a table set up and we paid the $15 corkage.
