My group of 8 will be arriving in Holyhead on Friday, August 14. We are looking for a private tour for the day. I have tried VIP tours and they are booked. We would appreciate any suggestions.

Welcome to Cruise Critic,

You could try these three, gleaned from the internet. All have 8 seaters.

You could also try BusyBus. As well as their Holyhead seat-in-bus cruise excursions, which get very good reviews on CC, apparently they can also arrange private minibus (what north Americans call "van") tours.

BTW, this is a 3-yr old thread with a not-entirely appropriate title - you might get a better response by starting a new thread headed something like "private tour operator Holyhead"

I know it was a long time ago, but I felt that I should correct TLCOhio's assertion that the The fictional story of Thomas the Tank Train is based on the Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog narrow-guage railroad.

Developments on British Railways were often mirrored, satirised and even attacked in The Railway Series. The book Troublesome Engines (1950), for example, dealt with industrial disputes on British Railways. As the series went on, comparisons with the real railways of Britain became more explicit, with engines and locations of British Railways (always known as "The Other Railway") making appearances in major or cameo roles.
