General Help Questions - Ventura

Recommended Posts

We are cruising on Ventura to the Caribbean at the end of the month and have a few questions. My wife is concerned as to what the evening temperatures are and whether we are likely to be troubled by mosquitoes?

Do the washing machines take £1 coins?

Do we use 3 pin plugs as in UK?

Can ship's towels be taken on shore days?

TIA :)

The washing machines dont take pound coins as they, and the driers, are free to use. You have to supply your own detergent though but this can be purchased in the on board shop.

The cabins all have UK 3 pin 230v sockets.

You have white cabin towels and pool towels which are blue or blue/white stripes. You can take pool towels ashore, just make sure you bring them back.

Evening temperature are still usually warm. Mosquitoes not a problem.

On deck in the Caribbean it will most likely be warm though windy. You may find it a little chilly in the public rooms because of the air conditioning, so most ladies pack a pashmina, shawl or cardigan.

Mosquitoes won't be a problem at sea, but you can get bitten in the rain forest or by sand flies on some beaches so it's wise to take some deterrent or bite cream.

Highly recomend taking anti-mosquito spray, I normally get bitten so bad I'm like a brail book.....

I've used a jungle formula spray on two carribean cruises now with only ONE bite, must have missed a bit...

I know it's a bit powerful to apply inside but if you suffer from biting it's well worth 10 seconds discomfort compared to the alternative.
