cruiserking Posted February 28, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2005 Has anyone out there tried the Rocky Roller Drive in St. Kitts? We are interested in taking it having enjoyed a similar 4x4 excursion in Barbados. I realize this tour features a British Troop Truck which is much bigger and crowded. Also considering the Sugar Train which I've read mixed reviews, but, also heard some very favorable comments from some people that just returned from QM2 cruise. I'm interested in seeing the sights and great views, wondering which excursion might be more enjoyable. Thanks very much. Cruiserking

mmsoko Posted March 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2005 Just off the Golden and took Mac Pete's advice. Had a great time on the catamaran. Food was ready on beach when we arrived. Nice meal. My word of caution: When walking into water in beach area , bottom drops off quickly in spot. This excursion took all the time we had in St. Kitts (7 hours) but what a great day!!:)

mwsrccl Posted March 27, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2005 Please reconfirm any price quotes that she has give you. See my post of March 21, 2005 regarding my family's experience with her. She confirmed with me for $30pp. How much did she end of charging you and your family pp?
KMP Posted March 28, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 28, 2005 Although you can get a cab at the tourist stand for $16.50+ $8 for the fort, It's my understanding that Ilva's price is for the day- not 3 hrs. She also has a new van and will get you to all the 'sites' before the crowds. Her $30pp is still better than the cruise lines. I'd rather have someone meet me and start my tour immediately than wait in a line and end up following a caravan of cabs. I have friends that have booked Ilva in a couple of weeks and will post here on their tour.
itsjb1 Posted March 28, 2005 #9 Share Posted March 28, 2005 She confirmed with me for $30pp. How much did she end of charging you and your family pp? First, she did not take us. She passed us off to another driver. I think that she booked more than our family that day. Second, in July 2004 when I booked her she quoted $20 per person for the 4 adults and no charge for the 2 kids , ages 13 and 9. We ended up having to pay the other driver $30 for the 4 adults and the 13 year old. It was not until that all but I was in the van that she sprung on me that the cost was going to be $150 rather than the $80 that she quoted. Her lame excuse was that it was becuase I booked so far in advance I should not have expected that the price would not go up. Very poor business practice. While the driver that we had ended up being good , I do not like the way that she treated us. Let me know if you want the other driver's contact info. mwsrccl Posted March 28, 2005 #11 Share Posted March 28, 2005 I am not too concerned. I have spoken to her on numerous occassions since and asked her about the above as well. It also seems that more people are happy with her than not. I am just looking forward to the cruise in general!!
