LoraJ Posted January 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Since we only have one night on the Gem next month, I'd like to get the best dining experience out of our trip. Don't mind paying the up-charge. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts. It will be just my husband and I and we prefer a table for two.

The food is good, and it is nice place for a dinner for two. $20 each. Whatever you choose, make sure you make your reservations as soon as you board as they will fill up fast on the one nighter. Have fun!
Got Tequila? Posted January 14, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Another vote for Le Bistro....it's a great dining experience, and a more intimate restaurant. :)
coka Posted January 14, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Le Bistro. It is quiet, romantic, pretty decor, great service, perfect for two! I agree with the others...make your reservation immediately upon boarding. Have a great trip! coka

Coastalbreezes Posted January 14, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2011 My vote would be for Teppanyaki not only for the great food and show but also for the garlic fried rice -- the best I have ever had! TracyE

Rare mizLORInj Posted January 14, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 14, 2011 We've enjoyed the hibachi style dinner (Tappenyaki) on the Gem and also the steakhouse was fabulous. Note that Tappenyaki has only a few seatings so if that's your choice, reserve as soon as you board. While we've also eaten at the Asian place, I'd go back to the first two before the Asian place. We usually view the menus outside the various restaurants upon boarding, then make a reservation at whichever is most appealing. ENJOY. One nighters are fun. fridaythe13th Posted January 14, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 14, 2011 LeBistro is really a nice atmosphere for 2. Teppanyki is fun but you will be seated with 8 other people. Get your reservation ASAP! :D
faymuiheng Posted January 14, 2011 #11 Share Posted January 14, 2011 My vote would be for Cagney's. It's because we love: the steak the colossal shrimp the crabcakes the fries Well, you kinda get the idea.. ha ha. It really comes down to what you crave, and we crave the red meat. If not Cagney's, we'd go to Le Bistro. You can't go wrong with either of them. The atmosphere is almost the same. Ambience is number one with us too! Duncan28 Posted January 14, 2011 #12 Share Posted January 14, 2011 I have to agree that Le Bistro has the best atmosphere and I do love the food there but I would pick Cagney's just because of the crab cakes. They are delicious! Have fun on your cruise!
LoraJ Posted January 15, 2011 Author #13 Share Posted January 15, 2011 Thanks for the suggestions. We'll try and board as early as possible and make reservations immediately. Leaning towards Le Bistro, but the husband likes crabcakes, hmmmm. I can never get him to do a hibachi Japanese type place. :(
sdmike Posted January 15, 2011 #14 Share Posted January 15, 2011 Room service. If I"m away from my 3 kids, mother in law and 8 pets for just one night, I'm spending it locked away with my lovely wife in a place where nobody can bother us. :D

Sandysandy Posted January 15, 2011 #18 Share Posted January 15, 2011 Our must-do restaurant is Teppanyaki - we don't have any similar restaurants close to home. The flavors are delicious...DH and I split the chicken, shrimp and scallops. 2nd favorite is Le Bistro. I'm not a big meat eater but I loved their coq au vin. The fondue dessert is delicious! I was disappointed in Cagneys. The fries had an off taste and we couldn't eat more than a few. Steak was just OK according to DH. I had better salmon in the main dining room. However, the brownie and ice cream were divine!
bob brown Posted January 15, 2011 #19 Share Posted January 15, 2011 On for one night only? Well follow the above advice, and go to any of those recommended....LeBistro, Cagney's, Teppenyaki...or wherever. But late at night, after the show, after the disco, after the casino, or whatever.....don't miss the Blue Lagoon for some decaf and a slice of delicious New York style cheesecake with blueberry compote and whipped cream. Yum, Yum!!!;):)
