Does anyone have any suggestions on excurisons to do on your own or with an outside company? I will be on a RCCL cruise and we will be docked in San Juan from 7:30 am to 2pm. I have already seen the Forts so that is out. If anyone has any suggestions for things to see or do that would be great - based on our limited time there.

We then went to mass at the Cathedral, breakfast at La Bombonera, and walk around for awhile the took a cab to the airport. Since you will have more time than us, will you be interested in a tour of the Bacardi plan? If so it's very economical. You take a ferry by the peer for 0.50 cents and when you get to the other side take a bus (mini bus) You'll see it (people will be looking for passangers, I think it was one dollar. The Bacardi plant is free. you get the story of Bacardi, a tram ride, and 2 drinks, If you don't drink, you can have fresh juice. children are welcomed and it's a nice way to spend a few hours. Google Bacardi for more info. It really is a nice trip for 3.00 round trip you cant go wrong. I can also have dinner at Raizes. very typical Puerto Rican food. You might want to get there early it gets crowded. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. You can also see both fort. Google San Juan Walking tour they will provide a lot of information. You also have the option to go to the sheraton casino and try your luck, or just enjoy walking around. Hope this helped. feel free to ask me any.

Good Luck with the trip

Does anyone know what time the outlet stores close on Saturdays and/or what time they open on Sundays (i.e. Coach, Dooney)? Trying to decide if I want to shop the day before our cruise or when we arrive back in port on Sunday. Thanks!

Sundays, most places open at 11am. Weekdays, stores usually open at 10am and most close at 5-6pm ( the ones you mentioned close at 6pm).

What do you like to do? Beach, adventure tours, horseback, water sports, dance classes, museums, food tours, rum tours, bike rides.....

PR has almost anything, and your hours are not bad to see a lot of it.

Rainforest girl - We like water sports, adventure, bike rides and any food tours. I am thinking of doing the Jetski Tour with Wow Surfing School, they take you and show you the forts, bacardi factory, etc by Jetski for about 75 min and than maybe going to the Barcardi Tour (if i can convince by gf) or maybe just walk around Old San Juan and get lunch. Has anyone done the Jetski Tour with any company in SJ?

Hey- Thanks for the info. We did a similar Jetski tour with a guy that is no longer doing it. But it was a fun tour. Ours was a bit hairy- jumping crazy ocean waves, but it was fun! I will look into this company.

If you can't convince your GF to do that, there is a bike tour company that does a few nice trips. If you are up to it, Pinones is a great place to bike ride. As you know, I can't name names, but google search for Bicycle tours San Juan.

Or there are food tours and rum tours that might work into your schedule. , but if you do a google search for Rum Tasting Tours San Juan or Food Tours Old San Juan and you will find more info.

What ever you decide, afterwards, I would just walk around OSJ, see the sights, get lunch. Depending on the day of the week, you could grab a free rum drink or 2 at the Don Q or PR Tourism Company information center.
