BendORcruiser Posted February 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2011 On past sailings on NCL, we have always ordered the entire meal (apps, entree, dessert) together at the beginning of the meal. This has always made sense to me because your waiter doesn't have to keep bringing the menu back between courses, and I don't have to remember what it was I wanted to order. I read something on these boards that made it sound like RCI doesn't do it this way. Is that true?
bplazo Posted February 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2011 We have always ordered everything at one time.
Mickeylee Posted February 15, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2011 We have ordered the starter and main course together, then at the end of the main course, they bring the dessert menu.
deborahjo Posted February 15, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2011 We have ordered the starter and main course together, then at the end of the main course, they bring the dessert menu. Same here. We order dessert last because by the time I get to it my mind has changed several times. LOL

cb at sea Posted February 15, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Yes....just like in a restaurant, you order everything while you have the menu....except dessert...they will bring you the dessert menu after the table has been cleared of dinner plates. dohertm1 Posted February 15, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 15, 2011 one tip. You can order more food or extra entrees, appetizers and desserts throughout the meal, as we often do. You don't have to order everything at the beginning althought that obviously makes it easier for the servers and the kitchen. Basically, we turn the MDR into an "all-we-care-to-eat" dinner, although we try not to waste food. Have fun.
dcward89 Posted February 15, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 15, 2011 On our recent cruise on Serenade, the dinner menu shows the full selection of apps & entrees but there is only 1 dessert listed (under the "Chef's Choice" section, or whatever it's called). The full dessert menu isn't offered until after dinner is cleared away.
Nebr.cruiser Posted February 15, 2011 #9 Share Posted February 15, 2011 We've only been on two RCI cruises, but the dessert menu has always been brought after we are through with our entree. I'd rather order it all at once though, to speed things up a little.
