Karyn R Posted March 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2005 We finish our cruise in Civitavecchia and will be staying several days in Rome after. What is the best way to get into Rome and how easy or hard is it?
kitty9 Posted March 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2005 I answered your post on the Crystal board. Are you on a Crystal cruise, or are you just cross-posting? This makes a difference because if you're not on Crystal, the answer is much different.
Karyn R Posted March 4, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted March 4, 2005 Yes Kitty. We are on a Crystal Cruise. Though we booked our own air. We now need to get from Civitavecchia into Rome (not the airport).
kitty9 Posted March 5, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2005 If you have lots of luggage, the train is not a good idea because they don't have any help for you with the luggage. You still might be able to purchase Crystal's transfers, even though you aren't booked in their hotel. I did this with a Crystal cruise a few years ago. I booked my own hotel, but purchased the Crystal transfer and it worked out great. The only thing I had to do was take their bus to their hotel, and then I took a cab to my hotel, which was very inexpensive. Private cars will be expensive because the Euro is very strong against the dollar but that's another idea for you.
