JRockey76 Posted February 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2011 We are looking to take our kids on their 1st cruise next year on the Allure, and would like to have an oceanview balcony...these rooms state they hold 4 people with a sofa bed. Would this be big enough to hold 2 kids ages almost 15, and 12? What are other options with out spending a ton on a suite?
cb at sea Posted February 28, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2011 It might be tight, but it's totally doable..182 sq. ft....not huge, but not teensy, either. Your other option is 2 cabins...connecting, or not. It would give you more space and privacy, but would cost you!
Host Star Posted March 1, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2011 there is so much to do on Allure that they will hardly be in the cabin at all... if cost is a factor I would stick with the one cabin... also look at the Boardwalk balcony cabins towards the aft of the ship..they are a little less $$$.... you get a view of the ocean plus all the activities going on on the boardwalk.... firefly333 Posted March 1, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2011 Consider one balcony with a inside across if you can find it, so you have two baths. Often a inside will be cheaper than the 3rd/4th rate on Oasis and Allure which have high priced for extra pax in a cabin. Worth pricing it out? skillet173 Posted March 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2011 Don't know about the Allure, but we just finished a 7 day on the Freedom. We had a balcony room with a pullout couch to share between me, wife, 16yo daughter, and 10 yo son. Cabin seemed spacious enough when balcony was used. Like others said, we weren't in it much anyway. The pullout bed takes up a lot of space when out, and offered little room to sleep. Our kids had to sleep diagonally and only one was comfortable which left the other in our bed. Maybe a pullman bed/pullout would work?
