CcCcCcCindy Posted March 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2011 I booked on the Summit for a "Savor your Destination" wine cruise. The information on the X site reads The "Savor Your Destination" wine cruises offer memorable events designed to further your appreciation and understanding of wine and fine spirits. Wine, champagne, sparkling wine and port tastings. •Learn how food can impact the flavor of wine •Discover what a spectacular pair port wine and chocolate make •Shore excursion to a winery with a wine tasting and dinner •Connoisseur Wine Dinner where French and California wines are paired to the Best of the Pacific Coast. •Learn how the shape of a wine glass affects flavors on the palate in our popular Riedel Wine Glass Comparative Workshop. Most of the events are complimentary; however, some have additional fees and space is limited. Can someone who has sailed on one of these tell me which events are complimentary, which carry a fee (how much?), and as far as space, are some difficult to get into? I am sure the shore excursion is extra, but what about the tastings or glass workshop? Thank you.

Rare Lois R Posted March 6, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2011 Hi Cindy and Steve,:) some of these "Savor" cruises are new...which SUMMIT sailing is this on? Next month? It looks good! I didn't realize Summit and Millennium are having them. That is why you might not get a lot of replies. Now, as for regular wine events, they have always offered Wine Tastings, Blendings, and Pairings and in more recent years Reidel Workshops. I have been to all of these and prices have varied for each one. I wish I could give you the exact cost but I have not attended recently. They can be very fun and interesting as well:)
