Carolyn1950 Posted March 6, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2005 We sailed on the Sea Feb. 26-Mar 5.. And we did make Cancun.. We had a wonderful voyage with no major complaints.. I enjoyed meeting electro and sandycruiser at the meet and mingle.. Ms Ana, the group co-ordinator, gave us a wonderful reception.. Lots of ships officers including the Captain attended. The Captain gave electro's husband a tour of the bridge.. We got special treats delivered each night to us from the officers for having the meeting.. cool, huh. The weather could have been better but like they say, there is no bad day at sea. Time to unpack and do laundry but if anyone has questions I will try to answer them.. Oh, one major difference I saw from my other cruise on the Sea was the stepped up hand sanitizing,, You were sprayed upon entering the ship every time and directed to the hand sanitizer at every meal.. Buffet and resturants. No complaints about that from me..
thunder_lin Posted March 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2005 What do you mean the weather could have been better? Was it on the cooler side or rainy? I haven't packed much for either condition. We sail on Saturday. Any other information you can pass along would be great. Glad to hear you had a great time. Is there anything you can think of that we should bring that would make our stay better? We are travelling with 2 kids (11,15).
crewsin250 Posted March 7, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2005 Welcome back Carolyn1950, so glad to hear you had a good time. Sounds like your M&G went over good I hope ours is that good, when you speak of Ana is this Angela Merino this is who is emailing me now instead of Ms Perez. Also did you get any towel animals at night and what was the best meal during the cruise. Thank you so much for your help and info!! Paul
Carolyn1950 Posted March 7, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted March 7, 2005 thunder_lin, We had a front and it was very cool. But I noticed you are from Canada so it will be warm to you. I had left 80 degree weather. I thought the water was cold, my friends did not, so a matter of opinion.. It was also very windy.. I left good wishes that the group after me has better weather.. I did wear my jacket.. But as we sailed home the sun had come out and it was much warmer.. crewsin250, Ana was onboard the ship.. As soon as you board, go to the reception desk and ask for her.. She will do you an excellent job. Yes, we had towel animals and the best meal was at the LeBistro.. I had prime rib and bananas fosters, the best I ever put in my mouth.. The service was 5 star.. A word of advice, eat your boarding day lunch in the 7 Seas, the buffet is way too crowded..Like mad house crazy..But it was just that way that one time.. I thought all the food was great.. The last night the meal in the 7 Seas was very slow, I guess because they are preparing for the next bunch.. They had a fellow checking tables and settings with a flashlight and I think the waitors were frazzled..He was making them rewash a lots of glasses.. They were getting the white glove inspection.. gsguru Posted March 7, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2005 We're on the Sea over Easter. Did someone talk to Ana ahead of time? This is our first time cruisin so maybe others on our roll call know, but did you set up a place ahead of time or if not how did you contact each other? We have been talking about meeting at the ice cream shop, where did you all meet? How many did you have meet? Any info would be great. CruiseH0GG Posted March 7, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2005 We were all a little green after the rough and tumble night we had leaving Houston. I only slept about two hours Sat. night so I slept in on Sun. morning and did not even think of coming out of my cabin until almost noon. Would have loved to meet all of you but maybe at a later date. Hope your cruise was as memorable as ours. I will be posting a review, so if you want to read it and compare that would be great.:)

The first time we did it was in Feb (early I beleive) and it was really bad infact the entire week was pretty rough with exception of a couple of days; the second time was this past November; the first 2 days were bad, Roatan was cloudy, a bit cold and not at all nice and Belize was rainy in the morning. Cozumel was so so; Cancun make up for the bad weather. It was beautiful!!! NMnita
Carolyn1950 Posted March 7, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted March 7, 2005 CruiseH0GG, we did miss meeting you.. Oh, yes, saturday night was rough, we lost 6 of ours to sea sickness. Only had 7 at our meeting.. But I loved the cruise. I would love to read your review.. I am sooo hoping for warmer weather in Oct. Julie, we set up the meeting thru NCL, I am sure who ever is heading up your group has done that.. We meet in Oscars lounge since it was closed then.. Shoreguy told me to try there so the ships officers could show up and it worked out great.. crewsin250, Ana is Ana Roncesvailes. You can get her at the reception desk between 3-5 pm on the day you board, or call her ex#1455. I bet you have a letter from her waiting on you in your cabin, I did.. But get your group's cabin numbers. I didn't do that and they missed their chance for goodie platters each evening. I did meet up with mine later on and passed on the info. Ana called me for the info and I didn't have it.. But sandycruiser chased me down, and I chased down electro so her dh could tour the bridge.. He even got to toot the horn..lol
txstephie Posted March 7, 2005 #9 Share Posted March 7, 2005 Thanks for letting us know about your cruise. I'm going to get on our roll call thread and see if someone wants to be in charge of setting up a meeting thru NCL.:)
gsguru Posted March 7, 2005 #10 Share Posted March 7, 2005 Carolyn, Sorry to be a pest, but how did you go about contacting NCL. Is there a special number for group meetings? A certain person to talk to? Julie
Carolyn1950 Posted March 7, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted March 7, 2005 No problem, Julie. Start with Ms Perez, she will probably forward you on to someone else.. YPerez@ncl.com

sdirector77 Posted March 8, 2005 #14 Share Posted March 8, 2005 Carolyn, If you don't mind me asking, what type of cabin were you in? We are sailing on 4/23 and have the AB Suite. I cannot wait for this trip and we are taking our two daughters (their first cruise). Thanks for your help. :)
Carolyn1950 Posted March 8, 2005 Author #15 Share Posted March 8, 2005 We were in the cheap seats.. But it was fine.. We arrived at the port at 11:30 instead of 10 as I had planned because the limo driver was late.. The busses had arrived and it was a mad house. But still we were on in 45 mins going thru the Latitude line.. First stop was Cozumel and we did the Playa Mia, it was ok. but very crowded. And the water very cold. Second stop was Roatan, did Tabyanna beach which I just love.. So tropical.. Third stop was Belize where we snorkled, again very cold water..Rum punch flowed freely.. Last stop was Cancun, my dh played golf and I stayed onboard. The weather was much nicer.. We did not do the express getting off and the ship was half an hour late getting back to Houston.. We were off by 11:00. We went to all the shows and enjoyed every one.. The Grease and Retro is great.. Very energetic dancers.. The casino was tight.. I won 280.00 on the Wheel of Fortune but like a fool lost it all but 50. I got triple diamonds on the nickle machine which paid 105.00. That was nice.. Thunder if you have specific questions I will be happy to try to answer them.. Maybe Cruisehogg will have better details.. He is writing a review shortly he said.
