What's the strangest thing you've ever seen on a cruise?

A lady on the Serenade feb19-26 tried to FIGHT the air brush tatto lady because her tattoo faded tovquickly.

A middle aged very drunk woman.

 

 

For me it was a young girl, who didn't look like she could be much more than 21. We were on the long tender ride back to the ship after our excursion was canceled so it wasn't much after noon. She was also drunk and obnoxious. At first it looked like this older guy had his hands all over her, then it got really wierd because I realized his wife and kids were there. Turns out she went ashore alone, and got totally hammered and this family saw her and helped her back to the ship where she passed out and needed medical attention. So glad they found her and brought her back.

After just boarding a Carnival ship observed a family board with buckets (more than 1) of Kentucky Fried Chicken. With all of the food on board I found it strange to see them bringing on more food, but I don't recall ever seeing "fried chicken" on any of my cruises.

But she was totally drunk and was fighting with the scooters owner because she needed a place to sit. Later in the cruise we spotted her about 11:00 at night, at the bar ,with her kids sitting on the foot rest under the bar while mom & dad had a few drinks.

Not strange per se'......but we had a service dog on one our cruises. A blonde lab.

 

We have had a few of those. There was one in training and she was with her trainer while her owner was para sailing. When the dog is off the harness they are like regular dogs so we got to meet her and learn a little about guide dogs. Those dogs are amazing.

2007 Carnival Liberty-Docked in San Juan. DH and I were up on deck watching all the late comers running for the ship. We had an NCL ship parked next to us. There was this couple that came running up the pier and quickly stopped. They start looking at the Liberty and then at the NCL ship. After a few minutes, and I do mean minutes, they head to the NCL ship. Security tries to tell them they don't belong on their ship. This goes back and forth for about 5 minutes at least. Finally one of the security people, now there were several, came over to the Liberty and ask them to come get their passengers. Two Carnival Security guards went over to the NCL ship and brought them back to the Liberty. We all started clapping while laughing wildly.

We were on the Voyager out of Galveston, met several younger couples (20's) in the Hot Tub one night. The next day after a shore stop we met one of the couples getting back on ship. The Lady was beet red, she told us she had got drunk on the beach and none of her friends woke her. Had to be 1st degree burns if not worse. We thought, With friends like that who needs enemies.

:D Probably the man that was maybe in his 80's? or late 70''s wearing horn rimmed eyeglasses and not much else as he was apparently going "commando" and parading around during a game of Quest on Monarch. :rolleyes:

Mine was a younger man in just socks walking around the lounge during quest. Not on a team just walking through the crowd. He even stopped and let me take a picture. :eek: Can't post that here!

On HAL I was in the Crow's Nest, which is similar to Viking Lounge with windows all around the bar. An older, extremely overweight woman in a thong bikini was on a lounger outside and had her butt pressed up against the window. The sight of those smushed butt cheeks outside the window made me laugh so hard that I almosted spewed my drink. When she left, there was still a butt-shaped imprint on the glass.

 

On X I was on my balcony watching some dolphins. I noticed my neighbor, who was also our dinner tablemate, was also leaning on the rail watching the dolphins. I started to say hello then realized that he wasn't wearing anything. :eek: I was much more embarassed than he was. At dinner his wife said that she told him not to go out on the balcony undressed.

 

On RC I was at Quest with my mom when the CD asked for a woman wearing a man's pants. The man next to us quickly shucked his britches and tossed them at his wife. I guess he forgot that he didn't put his underpants on that day! He kept jumping up and down to cheer for his wife and we could see his parts bouncing around as he was jumping. My mom was laughing so hard that she had tears in her eyes.

There was a "Cow Boy" on the Freedom a few years ago. We all called him that and he was a rancher from west Texas.

 

 

This was his "Official Outfit" for the entire cruise and he was everywhere.

 

One of the nicest guys we have met with all of our cruising.

A middle aged very drunk woman. Travelling alone, came to dinner very drunk, she was loud and rude. Then all of a sudden she went quiet. She was choking on a peice of meat. She began to turn blue and pass out. I jumped up and did the himlich maneuver on her. The meat was dislodged as her airway cleared. ( she puked on her plate.) The others at her table left in disgust and she asked to see the dessert menu. No kidding. The waiters served her. Can you believe it??

 

I am not reading further before I comment.

 

In almost 40 years on RCCL this has got to be the most startling story I've heard!! OMG!!! You'd think they would call the nurse or something, but to feed her MORE food when she is drunk and choking...........that's amazing!!

For us it was all of the waiters singing "God Bless America" on Memorial Day. While it certainly was a touching thing to do, we laughed a little inside when they got to the part about "my home, sweet home" since probably none of them were from America.

 

I realize our story isn't that strange, but I was just wondering if anybody has any really strange stories to share.

 

On the Carnval Fantasy in the early 90,s, a crossdresser/transsexual couple .They dressed as woman and took great pains wth their apperance.They were being mocked and I felt sorry for them and engaged them often in conversation,they were quite nice people.It did get a bit strange one night in the casino,dressed to the hilt in a red leather mini skirt,see thru top and FIVE O,CLOCK SHADOW!

 

On the Zuiderdam, a woman would wheel herslf into the bar hop on a barstool and clip off her artficial foot and put it on the bar!

On our Mariner cruise Feb 2010 there was a group of real bearded Santas onboard. There had to be at least 70 of them. they were always dressed in every kind of santa print imaginable. And on formal nights in full Santa mode, hats and all. It was great fun and they were the happiest people you could ever meet. Must have been real confusing to all the kids onboard.

A Dutch group (male and female) who booked one of the lounges so they could dress up in children's sailor costumes and dance to old-time sailing songs, nursery rhymes etc.

We had just been seated for dinner on the Dawn Princess when a group of 8 came in dressed in bathrobes and slippers with smiles from ear to ear. They were not asked to leave as they had the OK of the maitre'd. Turns out it was an anniversary celebration (bathrobe themed). They had a great time and most of the dining room got in the spirit of things and we all sang Happy Anniversary.

My parents were on a TA with a large group of cross-dressers. My mom walked into the women's restroom to find one of the cross dressers in there-dressed in a dress, full make-up and earrings. It was quite surprising!

 

Well, it was a "trans"-Atlantic wasn't it?:p

We were on the Oasis this past December and there were 3 service dogs in a group of 4 and the dogs laid under each person's seat at dinner - they all were perfectly behaved.

On Brilliance of the Seas this past December 12, 2010. Santa looked angry. Not sure if one of his elves got buried under the tree. The tree was over 20' laying on it's side.

It seems on every cruise I've been on there's always some "characters." On the Brilliance we had what I called the "MuuMuu Patrol." They were three older, heavy set ladies (one in a wheel chair) who wore MuuMuus every day and we saw them everywhere slowly pushing their wheelchair travelmate all over the ship.

 

Then there were the crazy hat ladies on the Explorer. They would wear a different crazy hat every day and were always a fixture in the Schooner lounge at night.

 

Then there's my teenage daughter who has taken to wearing a winter wool hat (the kind with the ear flaps and big fluffy ball on top). She now wears it every second of every cruise - she even wore it under her helmet while doing a canopy tour in Jamaica!

 

And just curious, where do service dogs do their "business" onboard?

On the Oasis, adjacent to the jogging trail sort of in the middle deck 5, there was a 6x6 area marked dog area with what appeared to be like brown mulch.

 

I'd be at the Park Cafe early have coffe and the caretaker would often pass me with the dog and head out the door, then bring her back in tell her to stay, she'd get a coffee to go and go back to her stateroom.

Years ago several friends and I booked passage on a Carnival Celebration for a Star Trek Theme Cruise. I think we trekkers were about half of the ship. Now some fans enjoy dressing up in Trek Uniforms. Since the was back when dressing up/dress codes seemed to mean a little more, the organizer of the Trek event asked permission for our group to wear dress uniforms on the formal evenings should they be so inclined. I was not into costuming at the time, but thought it was nice to have that option.

 

What I could not grasp was the individual who donned her uniform with a cheetah mask or the individual who painted himself blue to mimic a seldom seen alien from the classic series. Seriously...who would think that was a good idea? I think there were a few more questionable outfits, but those two I'll always remember.

Bet the other half of the ship had great fun regaling their friends with stories of their trip and sights seen.
