terkatz56 Posted March 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2011 We will most likely stay at a hotel in the port/Fort Lauderdale Beach area post cruise. There is an attraction we would like to visit in the Dania Beach area, how far is this and is there bus service we could easily figure out? How about a guesstimate for 4 travelers doing a cab? Thanks!

Music City Posted March 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2011 Fishing Hall of Fame:) LOL! You're kidding, right? Well...It's at... 300 Gulf Stream Way Dania Beach, FL 33004 (954) 922-4212 That's between the Courtyard-Ft Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port and Bass Pro Shop which is the west side of I-95 and Griffin Road. On the east side is the Airport Hilton and the Sheraton. So... Stay at Courtyard and your problem is solved. Otherwise you will have to pick another hotel before I can tell you how far. Music City Posted March 8, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2011 You also need to tell us which hotel. Use Google Maps to find out. DON I don't think they've figured that out yet. Apparently looking at dead fish has a higher priority than booking a hotel room.
royalcruz Posted March 8, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 8, 2011 It would cost about $25-30 per cab each way if you stay in the beach area between Sunrise Blvd and SE 17th St. You would take the 40 bus south to the main terminal and then take the 6 bus south to the attraction. oncruisecontrol Posted March 9, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 9, 2011 It would cost about $25-30 per cab each way if you stay in the beach area between Sunrise Blvd and SE 17th St. You would take the 40 bus south to the main terminal and then take the 6 bus south to the attraction. Another option IF the OP is staying in the SE 17th St area is to take the #1 bus to the airport and then take the Tri-rail shuttle to the Airport Tri-Rail station (which is adjacent to the Fishing Hall of Fame). Or, once at the airport, they could just take a cab to the Fishing Hall of Fame. While taking the #40 bus to the Main Bus Terminal (in downtown Ft. Lauderdale)and then the #6 Bus to the Tri-rail station/Fishing Hall of fame (same stop) is the most inexpensive option, it also takes the OP "around the mulberry bush" to get there. Go to www.broward.org/bct for bus schedules, maps, and timetables. And www.tri-rail.com for additional info. But, taking a taxi directly from their hotel would be the most hassle-free option.
