List Of Where Your Favorite CD Might Be?? (merged)

Recommended Posts

I don't know of any list, but why not start an ongoing thread for this? I saw this on another cruise line board and it worked well. Start the thread and title it "Cruise Directors - Current Ships". Then in your post list all the ships in the fleet such as:

Adventure of the Seas - John Doe

Brilliance of the Seas - Don't Know

Continue with listing all the ships. Then below the list say "if you have recently sailed please post any updates so we can keep the list current."

Once someone posts an update, repost the list with updated names. Its a continual process as they change all the time but I have seen this work before.

Ok, here you go with a complete list. I compiled this by searching the board for the last report from each ship. The "as of" date is the last date I could find with this person reported as being on the ship. Some of these are 6-8 weeks old now so I am sure some changed. If you have any updated ones, post it and we can keep the list up to date.

Adventure of the Seas – Richard Spacey (as of 2/27/05)

Brilliance of the Seas – Dan Whitney (as of 3/8/05)

Empress of the Seas – Amy? (as of 1/17/05)

Tom Canosa was pretty good, at least he was very visable and friendly. His wife Claire was the Loayaly Ambassador on the Grandeur and was very knowledgable when we booked our next cruise. She could answer all our questions (not like the idxxt on the Seranade), and booking was a breeze. They also make such a cute couple.

Your right the list will change a lot. I am willing to keep it up if other can help out by posting when they know of a change. Having to try and search on a regular basis won't work. If I get tired of it then I'll let everyone know and someone else can take over.

As for James Andrews, I am sure he is still with RCCL He might be on vacation or might even be on a ship right now, but unless someone posts to say where he is I don't know. Some of the "as-of" dates are getting old as I could not find more recent updates.

Anyways, here is an updated list based on the feedback everyone posted:

Adventure of the Seas – Peter Benfield (as of 3/17/05)

Brilliance of the Seas – Dan Whitney (as of 3/8/05)

Empress of the Seas – Amy? (as of 1/17/05)

Enchantment of the Seas – Matt Baker (as of 3/14/05)

Explorer of the Seas - Clodagh O'Conner (as of 2/20/05)

Grandeur of the Seas – Tom Canosa (as of 2/15/05)

Jewel of the Seas – Jill Tasker (as of 2/12/05)

Legend of the Seas – Mike Hunnerup (as of 3/12/05)

Majesty of the Seas – Warren ?? (as of 2/21/05)

Mariner of the Seas – Kirk Detweiler (as of 2/27/05)

Monarch of the Seas – Marc Walker ( as of 1/17/05)

Navigator of the Seas – Ken Rush (as of 3/10/05)

Radiance of the Seas – Gordon Whatman (as of 3/13/05)

How long do they stay for. Are the 6 mo contracts?? I'll be on enchantment in Jan 2006. Will Matt Baker still be there? Is he good?

Tough to say if Matt will be there next Jan. He may not even know himself as he could always get moved to another ship. You likely won't know for sure until it gets much closer.

on my first cruise almost five years ago on the viking serenade there was a cruise director i think named Karen. is she still around and what ship is she on.

I don't know of all the CD's out there, but I do know of most of them and have never heard of any Karens.

royalcaribbeanproductions.com lists all of the current production shows playing on each ship.

They also list Cruise Directors, but that list is not directly tied to a ship, it is more like a bio on each.

I posed a question to RCI once about listing the current captian and CD for each ship on their website, but never heard a response...

When I have asked Royal Caribbean directly who our CD was going to be, the message was "we don't give out that information for security reasons."

It looks like the only way to compile this list is anecdotally, through each other, as jrm9999 is already doing.
