Hotels in Santiago, Chile?

We will be staying in Santiago for 2 days before our December 2005 cruise, and were wondering if anyone has a good hotel recommendation.

We were in Santiago pre-cruise 2 years ago, and stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and Resort. (At the time HAL was using this hotel, tho we booked on our own). We enjoyed it very much---the rooms were large and well kept and we had a lovely view of the Andes. Spectacular!

 

Also the grounds and pool area are beautiful and we felt the level of service was excellent. Spent 2 nights and was sorry to leave.

Is there more than one Sheraton in Santiago? I have heard mixed reviews....

Is anyone familiar with the Hotel Kennedy?

Single one, Sheraton is exelente hotel of 5 stars, lamentably at this moment they are working a route closely together of the hotel and that makes a little difficult

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Santiago and loved it--a very excellent hotel: high tea in the afternoons; great rooms, very modern. We stayed there in mid-December for one night and the hotel was decorated for Christmas. It is closer to town than the Sheraton, but is still not downtown.

My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency in 2002. The hotel arranged a car to meet us at the airport(we paid).The hotel rooms are large and the food was wonderful. We would stay there again.

We stayed at the Mariott last year. Its a fair way out, but there is a big shopping centre nearby with some superb places to eat huge steaks at a very reasonable price. The hotel itself was excellent, our room was huge and the bed was so big we almost needed the phones to speak to each other. We'd definitely go back:)
