born2crooz Posted May 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We just came back 2 weeks ago. Taxi driver recommended Le Galion Beach, near the butterfly farm. Very shallow and calm water. Secluded beach. There's a small restaurant with facilities. You can rent chairs/umbrellas. There were about 15 other people on the beach. It was GREAT. The seas were rough at most of the other beaches but this one is sort of a lagoon so the surf was mild. You will have to arrange return transportation as it is not a frequently visited beach. If we ever go back to St. Maarten, we will return to Le Galion. Email me at born2crooz@comcast.net with any questions. born2crooz Posted May 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2004 By the way, our children were 5 and 7 and they could wade out nearly 30 ft and water was no deeper than the youngest one's chest! gtaylor Posted May 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2004 born2crooz said it. Also remember that there is the zoo. _____ We must sail, sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it -- but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.
