? about men's shoes

He will be wearing dark blue dress pants for the formal nights and docker type tan/blue/black other nights. Can he get by with just one pair of dress shoes and if so - brown or black? He will also have deck shoes, sandals, tennis shoes, etc.

DH wears black Keens onboard with everything - navy, black, tan. Usually they're his only pair of shoes.

I'd go with the black dress shoes.

If he weren't bringing black pants, I'd say cordovan (if he has dress shoes that color). Of course, the cordovan can also go with black pants depending on the shirt color. And you didn't ask, but match the socks to the trousers.

I wouldn't wear dress shoes with the dockers...a pair of loafer/deck shoes will be fine!

I bring a pair of dress shoes, walking shoes, and sandles. I wear black dress shoes because most of my outfits black goes better with but I really don't care if I wear black shoes with a brown outfit or dress shoes with causal pants. Other then you no will know the difference or care.
