Rare bsbcgirl Posted May 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2011 Do we need water shoes? Some folks are saying that walking into the water is rocky.
Luke gs Daddy Posted May 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2011 JMHO. I would not go there. It is rocky getting into the ocean and there is so much more in Cozumel than PB. Overrated in my opinion.
Rare bsbcgirl Posted May 4, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted May 4, 2011 Do you have a suggestion for a different beach in Cozumel? We just like to relax in the sun and do some swimming. I thought PB would be good, since if the water was dirty/seaweedy that day we could enjoy the new pool.
caribsun Posted May 4, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2011 We had best time ever at PB. Yes there are some rocks as you enter the water but it clears out. Great service, big relaxing pool and clean restrooms.:)
Chef P Posted May 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 5, 2011 I was at PB in Sept and agian in Jan. the overall experience was awful and I would find another establishement, in answer to your question I would suggest water shoes...
shellgoodman Posted May 5, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 5, 2011 We have been there twice in the past 3 years. The first time we enjoyed it but it is rocky getting out to the inflatables. The drinks and food were good. My husband had a massage on the beach that he hated (felt like he was beaten up by a woman) and my girls had their hair braided. We liked it and thought we'd try it again. Last June we went again and unfortunately the water was disgusting. We got there a couple of days after a tropical storm and the water was all churned up. We asked about the conditions when we went to pay for our chairs (minimal cost) and they told us it was good. So we purchased the access to the inflatables and kayaks. Forget about the rocky part, they water was so horrible that it took a half hour to get out all the dirt that was in our bathing suits. They should have told us that the conditions were not great in the first place. You need a lot of upper body strength to use the inflatables because you need to reach high up to pull yourself out of the water to get on them. The iceberg is impossible for my girls and myself to do. My husband did ok with it. Mind you, he works out every day of his life and is in good shape. They did go kayaking but we were all so grossed out that we didn't even order any food this time. A word of caution to not pay up front for the use of the water toys. Check the conditions and then make your decision. You need water shoes for this one. We won't be going back there again and now I need to find somewhere else to go. cruisingbooboo Posted May 7, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2011 I went to PB 2 weeks ago for the first time. We got there early ( 9:30) and got 2 loungers with an umbrella. I reccommend water shoes, yes its a bit rocky but I think the average person with fair mobility would be fine. I thought it was more full of boulders than small rocks. We got a few drinks and they were fine. Some people near us got food it looked good. The pool looked very nice but I prefer the ocean. The bathroom and showeres were nice. We did not use the " toys" I thought it was a good day :)
