Ok, I know I have been the quiet one here. My first cruise was wonderful. What words do I use to describe my feelings? For the first few days I was a bit overwhelmed, to say the least. I sort of just followed Jim around like a little Indian Squaw, trying to keep my jaw from hitting the floor. I found the art on the ship to be wonderful and everytime we left our room I saw more of it.

Food and service were great...just too much of it. The Wind Jammer is a place of making decisions. For the first 3 days I wanted it ALL. Then I would go back to the room and feel like a beached whale. By the 5th day I was making smarter decisions and eating more salad.:D

With all the things to do on the ship, my favorite is sitting on the balcony with Jim and a good book. To my surprise, I liked the sea days best. Do I look forward to the next cruise? Just don't be in my way on the gang plank or I may have to smack you out of the way with my cane. Hugs for all and great cruising for all of us.

Judith

Welcome Judith! Glad to hear you enjoyed your first cruise.

Art On Board...

It is everywhere and I am sure that many cruisers never slow down and check it out.

These two are self animating (If you turn the crank yourself) and are on Deck 6, Starboard, near the Aft Elevators.

Hi Jim! It was really nice to meet you and Judith. Like so many on CC, I've followed your posts for years now. We enjoyed this cruises with you, and stuck around for the Western loop so we just got home yesterday and am trying to catch up.

My daughter LOVED these! We were just down the hall, and could not pass by them without her giving them a few cranks and giggling. I kid her all of the time what an awkward age 19 is, 1/2 kid and 1/2 adult ;).

Congrats on the upcoming wedding. Maybe u guys can take a honeymoon cruise; oh I don't know maybe on Freedom again, since that was Judith's first cruise; what better way to celebrate; and maybe, oh I don't know Dec 4, 2011. Seems like a good time; and then maybe just possibly, we will see each other again. Oh, yea, I am on that cruise.

Cheers

Just got caught up after spending the last week in St. Lucia on my honeymoon.

Congratulations to you and Judith on your upcoming wedding.

Thanks for the great review and pictures. Made me think about my last cruise with Jenn and the fun we had on Freedom and in the EC.

As most here I am very greatful for the wonderful review. We are going on a family cruise in a few weeks now same ship and itinerary. We have done it before and loved it. We especially love going out of Canaveral. You have put my mind at ease and now I know I can expect the same excellent time. thanks for sharing

Just now finished your "love story" and am hooked. I have been on one RCI cruise (Monarch in 1997) and am anxious to try another. My only problem is $. I plan to book this ship possibly next year.

CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement. I looked into the website you posted (SeniorsMeetingPeople, etc.). Is this a free website or is there a charge to use it? It appears that it worked for you and Judith. I am a few years younger than you, single and love cruising.

Like quite a few people here have said, it would be an honor to meet you both. And, last but not least, thank you both for your service to our country!

Thanks for posting. That porterhouse is just screaming for my husband to order it....I'm more of a filet mignon girl myself....can't wait. Do you know if the chops menu is new on all ships or just Allure?

the answer.....was LOBSTER offered in the DR any night?

I remember it was the second Formal night 'cause we sat at the Captain's table the first Formal night the second week. As for which night, it's different depending on whether it's the Western itin or the Eastern.

But the porterhouse has the filet on one side of the bone, and the NY strip on the other side of the bone. It's the best of both worlds ;-)
